Where does the second front cover on my diswasher go?
After installing my dishwasher I took off the front cover to watch and see if there were any leaks. As I pulled the cover off, a second cover fell out from behind it. Now I can't figure out where that second cover goes or what it is for

The power supply hookup on a dishwasher is located underneath and to the fromt of the dishwasher. Look at the very bottom front of the diswasher, where the toe-kick would be on your cabinets. You will see that this is actually a removeable panel held in place with a couple of screws. Remove this panel and you will see a metal box, also with a removeable cover plate. Remove this cover and you will find the power supply wires. Strip the wires from your Romex supply line and wire nut those to the dishwasher wires, blcak to black, white to white, and the ground will loop under a green grounding screw located in the inside of the box. Hope this helps.
most diswasher when you pull off the botom front cover you will see where the wires (power) goes in unplug it from the wall if you can then check this box out there should be a cover on the little box unscrew it then check the wires might be loose if so put wire nuts on then electrical tape screw cover back on to power box this should take care of it . good luck
Rise Aid is good to use however it sounds like you have another issue. Here are a few steps you can take to get your Dishwasher working:
Check to see if your getting water to the top rack. Test this by runing a cycle and open the door and place a cup right-side up. Close the door. It should fill the cup up to the top with in 20 seconds. If it does you have to clean out your dishwasher with a cleaner like Dishwasher Magic.
If the cup doesn't fill to the top then you have a circulation problem. Either your not getting enough water Or the filter in the pump is clogged. Water should cover the bottom of the dishwasher tub and then just reach the float.
If your going to clean the filter/chopper you need to take out the racks and tube and sprays. And then take the screws out of the top. You have one screw for the filter/chopper housing take this off and clean it. Pull the blade forward and up. Do the reverse to install it should just stamp back on the bearing.
Good Luck. Please take a minute to rate your experience.
Have a great day!
What brand is it ? Also most diswashers have a float switch that tells the control panel that the water level is at the operating level. These floats get stuck sometimes and can effect the operation of the diswasher.
Waste line from dishwasher to waste connects to one of
small spigot on extension pipe above the disposal up high under counter
small spigot on side of disposal directly above sewer connection, below blade
small spigot on sewer line below disposal, but above U trap
at the dishwasher end, the hose connects to the pump output, under the base of the dishwasher, usually left side of center, there is no external spigot
you have to run the waste line under from the back, and connect from the front , by removing the kick plate under the door opening
I had this same problem so I took the front panel off to access the thermal fuse. What I found instead was that food had become lodged in the door latch which was keeping the door safety switch from operating properly. I took a thin screwdriver and removed the food from the cavity. Since you did not have the problem in your first five years the cavity just might be the problem since that is about the amount of time it took me to get too much food stuck in mine as well. This solution took five seconds and requires no disassembly.
