I would check the Touch Screen first. Your Owner's Manual tells you how to calibrate the touch screen from the SET menu. However if the touch screen isn't working, you can't get to the SET menu. Suggest taking it to an authorized Viking Dealer and they would be able to quickly determine the solution. You can find the nearest dealer by going to the Viking website - http://www.husqvarnaviking.com/us website and click on 'Locate a Dealer'.

Calibrate the diplay
The Display calibration can be opened as follows:
- turn off the sewing-/embroidery computer
- touch the two needle positioning buttons on the front panel and keep them pressed
- turn on the sewing-/embroidery computer and release the buttons as soon as the Display appears
- touch the calibration icon
- touch the center of the cross using the touch pen
-- the cross moves to the next position
- repeat this until all three positions shown are calibrated
-- the Display is closed
-- the adjustment is saved
You can get back into the touch-screen calibration routine if you start up the machine with both of the needle offset buttons pressed at the same time ... once you've calibrated the touch-screen you'll be OK again.
Since you can't get any response to your Menu-Norm-Prog-Rep-Set-or Help on your touch screen but you can get into your stitches, It does sound like you need to re-calibrate your touch screen. Normally you would get into your Set Menu to access your touch screen calibration. But as suggested on another solution. You turn off your Des 1, Holding in the reverse button (bottom left of the eight buttons) and the pivot button (the second one from the bottom of the four buttons) at the same time and turn on your machine. This is the Service menu that pops up (try not to touch anything on this screen, it could really mess things up if you don't know what you are doing) After this screen pops up go over to the eight buttons on the far left of your machine and touch the needle up, needle down button (top right button of the eight) the Calibration Screen will pop up on your touch screen (two plus marks labeled 1 & 2) In your sewing sitting position touch the center of the #1 mark and then the #2 mark. Once you've done that the Service Screen will pop back up. Shut off your Des 1 and restart it normally. Try getting into your different menus- Menu-Norm-Prog Etc. Hopefully that fixed your Calibration issue!
** Note: If the service menu doesn't pop up when trying to hold in these 2 buttons together and turning on your Des 1 the buttons weren't held in properly and you need to turn it off and try it again.
Hopefully that helped you out!!
Hi,Try this, switch off machine, press in reverse and pivot button
together, switch on,release buttons and press up/down needle button, this brings up calibration screen. With a plastic stylus or something similar(not metal) touch in centre of each cross, they should turn green.Switch off and on again, and it should be fixed.
1. Turn off 2. on Sewing arm above needle there are a series of buttons 3. Hold down bottom 3 buttons 4. While holding turn on machine 5. Using scribe 6. Touch the centre of each + as it appears 7. It will go Centre bottom rh centre top lh as you select each + position it moves of it's own accord. 8. Turn off machine 9 Turn on and test.
Important sometimes this does not entirely fix prob!! Simply do it again "Yahoo"" Some mechanics will try to tell U the screen is on it's way out Bollocks just calibrate. Thanks CYA
go to the set menu and click on the more button 2 times and at the top of the page you will see "adjust touch screen" click on that button and push 1 in the center of the X and the same for 2. when you get this done push the save button before you close out of it. this should take care of your screen and if it doesn't (you can do it a couple of times) it will need a new touch screen
