Question about Philips Magnavox 27MS343S 27" TV
Will it work with a remote? We have the remote but have cable and we need a code to set up the universal remote. What do we do?
When you say you have the remote for the TV, that means the one that came with it. It won't need programming. Most universal remotes need this: (Turn ON the device you want to try.) 1.) press and hold the SET button until the LED flashes 3-4 times, 2.) press the FUNCTION you want to set (TV, VCR, CBL,etc.) 3.) enter a 3 digit code like 050, 051, 052, 112 etc.) 4.) finish by pressing the ENTER button to save. Now press the power OFF button. If the device goes off, you've got the likely code. You may have to still try a coupla' codes higher to get an even closer match. I write the codes that match on a tiny slip of paper and put it in the battery compartment.

Is it Comcast? With our cable box came an instruction booklet with codes for different brands. We tried two or three before finding the right one.
I can't find the instruction booklet we had, but you might find one on your cable company's website.
