Question about Webroot Spy Sweeper (spysweeper) for PC

1 Answer

Webroot is more interested in selling their support service at $29.95, than providing good customer service. It is as if they deliberately bug their products to extort the money for support. I have spoken with the sales department since it is impossible to get through to "free" support. They were extremely whiny, and the most they would do is give me a reinstall link, which does not work because I cannot completely uninstall the original program. The same for the email responses that I have received, which have all been form messages consisting of FAQs or uninstall/reinstall instructions.

I thought that my post was going to appear somewhere else, in addition to somebody who had the same problem as I started to have in that Spy Sweeper stopped updating and also stated that a connection could not be made.

I then uninstalled, restarted, and attempted to reinstall Spy Sweeper, but I cannot because there are traces still left, and the error message is stating that Spy Sweeper is still installed on the computer. I am concerned about using a registry cleaner, because I do not want to lose anything that I need.

I have no interest in reinstalling Spy Sweeper, and I have asked them for a pro rated refund, which is a good deal for them, since I have had $$$ worth of headaches lately with Spy Sweeper and Window Washer.

So where do I go directly to find the lingering Spy (Ware) Sweeper remnants.

Download a freeware program called ccleaner.

This is a free registry cleaner that I used for years and never had a problem with. It will also back up the registry before it cleans it, so you know you are safe :-)

As for malware programs, I would suggest Malwarebytes.

its free and ranked # 4 in the malware dectection charts.. and this was months ago before they worked on it even more.

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi there,
Save hours of searching online or wasting money on unnecessary repairs by talking to a 6YA Expert who can help you resolve this issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.

Here's a link to this great service

Good luck!

I was put on amazon prime the last order I placed -trial is free- but I don't want it and don't need it How can I get out of this, the app you recommanded 6ya, cannot help! thx

Hello Christine Rammler,

Sorry... (in my opinion)

6YA is only a gimmick to
try to make money from the FREE volunteers here...

It is slightly more difficult than getting into
AMAZON's "FREE" trials...

Subscriptions... and other AMAZON gimmicks...

PRICES... It is the perfect competitive market place

(Caution... some SELLER prices are OUTRAGEOUS
(Again: In my opinion)).

They have built a deliberate & robust customer advocacy
to impress & RETAIN a faithful customer base.

You need only go onto their website

You SHOULD be delighted how easily they try to HELP
(It is in their OWN good BUSINESS INTEREST
(Most good businesses are quite aware))...

But not even to most SAINTLY interest cannot get better
without meaningful CUSTOMER feedback...

If you are still displeased... and Do NOT want to take
the honors: Comment me back with your TRANSACTION ID...

I have such confidence... They will tell me to pound sand...
but not before I tell them of your ISSUES...
and extract at least a PROMISE (as a petty share holder).

Go here...

Removing webroot spy sweeper

This worked for me. Search the registry for webroot (start->run->type 'regedit'); in regedit, find 'webroot'. Delete the folder that has webroot (it has sub-folder 'spy sweeper'). McAfee should finish installing.
