On board Ethernet adapter

This has been working perfectly well for months; suddenly, it failed and appeared in Device Manager (XP Pro SP2) with the yellow exclamation mark. I have reinstalled the drivers, uninstalled and reinstalled the adapater, but no joy. Any ideas welcome.

I installed a new hard drive in my old machine, formatted it, and have installed other software. However, when I try to reinstall my modem through my ethernet connection (as it was set up before) the installation wizard tells me that it does not recognize an ethernet connection on the machine. I have a Foxconn modular jack combo connector plugged into my Intel D845gvsr motherboard (again, this has not changed from before) and I'm not sure if there is a piece of software that I need to install (driver?) in order for the machine to recognize that the ethernet connection exists. Anybody have any ideas how to help me? I've gone to the
Foxconn website but have not found any useful info about software related to this component.

I lost internet connection at some point with this onboard lan. The same as yours and I did a reinstall of windows after doing a few things due to frustration. loaded the drivers and no lights on the onboard modem will light up. it says cable not plugged in

two solutions:
1- Please don't install a windows on your Macbook pro because it's efficiency is 70% and a windows never works perfectly on an Apple device.

2- your Windows XP SP2 is incomplete.
so install another windows CD or download a new one from internet.

Check your Ethernet device in device manager option. Click on the "Network adapter" option in device manager. Now re-install with your motherboard installation disc or click on "Update driver" option, it will automatically run and fix your problem.

It's possible you have a damaged network adapter. Depending on if it's built in or an add on will determine how to proceed.

If it's an add on take it out of the computer and remove all the software and drivers. Go to Device manager and make sure it's out of there too. Now reinstall the software and drivers then reinstall the network adapter.

If your adapter is built in you need to start by disabling the adapter on the mother board. This is done in the BIOS/CMOS setup. Enter your BIOS setup as your computer is booting up, if your unfamiliar with this be very careful changing the wrong setting can have dire consequences. After disabling the adapter follow the previous instructions for removing and reinstalling the software and drivers. After this is done reactivate your network adapter, your computer should reconize and reinstall the adapter.

This should have you up and running unless the adapter is damaged.

Waves when scrolling the internet

This problem of waves when scrolling the internet has a very simple solution. You are having this problem of display because you do not have the correct VGA (vodeo graphics adapter) driver installed on your PC for your VGA card. All you need to do install this driver and it will stop.

This is how. You have two approaches:-
1. Install the vga driver from the system board CD if you have it.
2. Go to start, right click on My Computer, select properties, click on the hardware tab, select device manager. Wait for the Device Manager to appear. Right click on display among the list of devices and click on "update driver." This secon procedure requires internet connnection.

Hi,
If you know all drivers are installed correctly and you still can't get onto the internet, then
I think you may have corrupt winsock files. Contact your ISP . They should be able to help you.
