Question about GE JTP20 Electric Single Oven

1 Answer

F2 Error code displays with audible beep.

The serial number on the door reads 326B1230P001. The documentation reads the model as one of the following: JTP20, JTP25, 911.4771. It is a GE model.

After turning on the oven set to the default of 350 degrees, the F2 error code displays with a audible beep until you press the clear/off button

f3 error code appears with auditable beeps and oven goes off.

The f2 error is an intermittent problem that is getting more frequent. At first I could clear it by pressing clear, now I have to turn off the breaker for at least 30 minutes.

The F2 typically means an overtemperature conditions:
1. over 650 degrees F unlatched or 915 degrees F latched.
2. cooling fan stalled while over above 650 degrees F or an oper thermal switch in the yellow leads.
Check for:
1.Welded relay contacts
2.Cooling fan stalled or blocked air flow to rear of unit.
3.High resitance in over sensor leads/connectors, especially at sensor in rear.

Turned oven to bake it keeps beeping with message "door"

Oven keeps beeping:
As there is no reprogramming of most control boards try this, disconnect the power and wait 30 seconds and then reconnecting the power.

If it's an "F1" fault code this generally implies an electronic oven control (EOC) failure. Disconnect the power, wait 30 seconds or longer and then reapply power. If "F1" returns upon power-up, replace the electronic oven control.
The oven control can be accessed and replaced from the rear of the control panel.

NOTE:Disconnect the power cord from the power source before removing the panel from behind the console.
If its an F2 ERROR CODE, The F2 error indicates an open circuit in the oven temperature probe.

Your range has a resettable thermostat in series with the oven temperature probe. If this thermostat opens the clock will display F2 and the oven won't heat.
You can reset the thermostat by pushing in the reset button on top of the thermostat.
Some ovens have an alarm that will beep continuously every six seconds to alert you that the oven is still on. Usually, a kitchen timer that you have set will cause the beeping, but occasionally it can be an error with the oven's settings. If it is the kitchen timer, you can simply push the "Kitchen Timer On/Off" button to end the continuous beeping. If that does not stop the beeping, it is probably beeping due to an error. You can turn the continuous beeping off but you may still need to troubleshoot the issue that is causing the beeping noise.

Audible alarm sounded--"F2 "appeared on

Your model is actually a 911. Roper (Whirlpool)

The F2 error code is

E0 - Shorted keypad (also called touch pad)

E1 - Keypad cable unplugged

E5 - Cancel key drive line open

E6 - Cancel key drive line open

1. Check keypad connector for firm connection (keypad connects to control board).

2. Press CANCEL. If error code returns after 60 seconds, replace keypad (also called touch pad or membrane switch). Some models incorporate keypad in to control board as one unit. In this case, replace control board (also called ERC or clock).

My oven started beeping constantly with changing codes, time count-down, lock? display, then error codes F2 E3. Can't find these error codes anywhere. I finally shut off the breaker to make the beeping...

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

F2-E3 error means open/shorted oven temperature sensor and to solve this problem the sensor needs replacement. If you want to do it yourself and wan to be sure before replacing the sensor then you can test it with a voltmeter between 1080-1120ohms....if it reads more then or less then this then it needs replacement however, if the reading is around between 1080-1120ohms then it is the control board that needs replacement. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

326B1230P001 GE Double oven that displays ?F7? and beeps

I have a GE JT950 double oven that just did the same thing: F7 and beeps like crazy. I found solution on another post: an engineer figured out how to solve the issue without calling GE or buying parts. I just did it tonight and it worked fine. Here is a copy of the post:

Send an e-mail to Charlie at for a fix-it that you can try. He explains a possible solution fully with his 'The Dreaded "F7" Error' solution. I actually found his information on another website when I did a web search for "GE Profile Oven F7 Issue". I sent an e-mail to him and he replied with free fix-it information. I am not a repair person myself, but, his instructions are very clear and simple to follow. I did the fix-it at no cost in approximately 10 minutes and it has solved my problem

F2 and F3 code appearing along with annoying beeping

i think f3 error code has something to do with the temp probe maybe it is the problem. the temp probe is located if you open the door directly in the back wall. it looks like a prong. should read 1100ohms the f2 error code though usually has something to do with the keypad i would check all the connections maybe they are loose.
