SOURCE: Insignia LCD tv 32".....

It's either the VGA cable you are using has a bad pin or the RGB/Color Scheme is set wrong. So try another VGA cable or try the LCDTV on another PC.

SOURCE: there are horizontal color bands (red, yellow and purple)

You having problems with the video circuits in the television. The color bands are some type of noise from faulty components in the circuits distorting the video information for the screen. The scrolling actually is the scanning circuits. Picture is clear but with a yellow tint .

Make sure, if your using component cables ,that they match up color for color and are plugged in.If it looks good try adjusting your colors on the TV.You can also try unplugging the TV for 5 min. and then plug it back in.This might be a TV issue.

Mitsubishi tv model wd 73727 and how to take tv apart to clean marrow

my mitsubishi 73" set is 4+ years old. all of a sudden the color is all wrong. after a couple of minutes of clear picture the colors change--blue is green and red is yellow. a little while later everything has a red tint to it and there is a line going down the center of the screen. to the left the picture is still relatively sharp, but the right hand side is terrible. I'm hoping this is just the lamp.

Picture settings

Colorimetre HCFR software
AVC HD 709 calibration disk
Spyder2 colorimeter (I know most prefer the Eye-One meters, but the Spyder2 was available from my job at no cost)

Here are the settings:

PS3 Blu-Ray player

Output Format (HDMI): Y Pb/Cb Pr/Cr (important!!! NOT RGB output)
BD 1080p 24hz Output (HDMI): On (this TV can reproduce video at 48hz for accurate 2:2 pulldown)
Y Pb/Cb Pr/Cr Super White (HDMI): On (not sure if this matters)

Take time to get used to the settings, you may think the screen looks dull at first. The truth is most people have way too much contrast on their TVs.
These settings will also work for Cable or Dish hookups, in which case you may change the Noise Reduction option to Medium to reduce signal noise.
