Research my friend. start reading up on circuitry. electrical properties, ect. Learn what different components are and look like and what they do. Know your definitions such as terminal, capacitor, circuit board. You can find all the information you need online. Be careful, not only for your own safety, but the saftey of what your working on. Be observant, look for problems on the circuit boards, frayed wires, melted parts. Get yourself a Multimeter and a test light. Learn to use the multimeter to check for continuity. It is a skill you will have to learn, its not instinct. With a little research, knowing how to use a few simple instruments, and the power of deduction, you'll be a wiz in no time.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

Engine light on. it is running really rough. had a diagnostic test done it said four possible things. it said my 3rd spark plug was bad so i changed it and then changed others as well and the wire but it...

You don't ever change any parts

You learn how the systems work &
component test them

You will change every part on the car &
still learn nothing or fixed a thing

I suggest you have a repair shop do the
proper testing, to at least find the issues

I know what you said & they were not of
any help to you, unless you know what was
tested,how & why & they want your money ,
so don't expect them to give you much, so
you can work on it

Then you can come home & resolve with
maybe one part,a vacuum hose or other
repair

The service stabilitrak message keeps coming on my gmc

That dash symbol is no different than any
other one, as you still have to check for codes
& diagnose the system they point to, with the
fault & then component test

If you have codes & want to learn something
prior to going to the repair shop,Google the codes

You should not be using any vehicle that has any dash
light lite, after the motor is started, you have a
system failure & some day will cause more damage
& expense that could have been avoided

Low compression

Seldom do you find actual compression values

That is sort of learned from experience & possibly
on a data base at a repair shop

If the compression is low then a valve problem or timing
belt would be where you start your checking

I would skip compression in all cases & go to cylinder leak down
test
Now you got a good mechanical idea on intake & exhaust valves
& more.

Those values as well as compression are gauged between cyl
for comparison

There is no need to do either at first

If you had repair shop tools you do a cylinder comparison
right off the battery cables just cranking the motor with the
injector fuses out.

How do you clear codes for 2004 saturn ion

Clear the codes AFTER a repair was made & the light
stayed on ?

I would purchase an inexpensive $60.00 code reader &
use that.

If you start disconnecting batteries on every vehicle you
do or will own, then bad things happen.

The radio won't work,the car won't start,etc

If you have service manuals to learn your vehicles systems,
then you can eventually know what the results will be

Again,if you fixed nothing, then the light is going to stay on
or come back

Hi there i have a 1992 626 mazda model number gtoamni, engine number 357408.when engine is cold engine runs smooth but when engine hot starts to splutter sometimes when hit throttle to hard i have checked...

I will be honest also

You think a lot of things & are out of ideas

You have changed some parts & spent some
money doing so,& have not gained on the problem

No you need to learn your cars systems & learn how to
test them or take it to a repair shop

I mean this in the most respectful way,but your approaching
vehicle repairs without the knowledge necessary & we can not
guess at all the possible things ,only for you to believe we are
somehow experts & you throw more parts at it.

How do i fix my amp

It sounds like you have shorted output transistors. If that's the case, you'd have to replace them to repair the amp. If you're not interested in learning to do this type of work, you should have the amp repaired professionally.
