I have seen the HV Transformer fail to cause this problem. The safety circuits are designed to try three times and then lock out for a period of time. Sorry that is all I have to offer.
Hope this helped,

What's your problem?i have a rca tv model number d52w14 and it will not turn on just the power button comes on and goes off three times?

The set actually has a "3 strikes and you are out design".

It will try three times and if fails shut the set down.

This model is prone to bad solder connections at and near the high voltage transformer---also to bad parts in that same area which include: the transformer, the sweep transistor near it, and the high voltage splitter block it feeds.

RCA D52w14 light on power button blanks three times then goes off

In the middle of the deflection board. The one on the fall left from the back. There is a heatsink with three sides to it. Inside it there is a capacitor . If the top is swollen replace it. I think it is c150.

These sets have alot of problems with poor solder connections resolder all pins on flyback transfomer, check 3 capacitors on power/deflection board cp(150) 2200uf 16v (cp120) 220uf 35v (cp114)220uf 35v they are green with gold writing. Also it is better to fix it Now because the longer you keep trying to play set it can cause more damage to it.
