For use with compatible battery only

Had to send unit back to Sony for repair.

I had this same problem with my cybershot and tech support said it would cost me $91 to send it in. Instead, I read something on the net that said to try cleaning contact points with a white eraser. I used a clean white eraser on the end of a pencil and cleaned the contact points on the battery and inside the camera and now it works! Hope it works for you too.
