SOURCE: how to export log from CISCOASA?like other cisco

ASA's log is usualy stored localy on ASA itself, so easiest way to export that log is to go with telnet/ssh/console on it, do a command : show logging and copy/paste output into a new file.
but beware - this log is really short and as soon as ASA is rebooted - it's gone.
you could set asa to log to a syslog server (free on linux/freebsd or for windows use KIWI app).
that way all ASA log output is stored on pc/server running your syslog server.

Connecting new HP desktop - hardwiring into CISCO Valet Plus. Internet will not come up. Take the cable and plug back into old computer; internet comes up just fine. Any ideas?


Make sure that the plug is in thr correct port of the router. The ethernet cable going from the modem to the router should be plugged into a port labeled WAN or Internet. Then, after that's done, unplug your modem for about 30 seconds or so to delete the MAC address saved in the modems memory. Modems can only "speak" to one device, and they always remember the address of the device they were "talking" to. You need to clear that memory out so that the modem can address the new device, which is the new router in your case. hope that this was helpful.

I can't find find all the usb drivers and modem drivers compatible for my samsung GT-C5010 mobile phone. Please name any web sites.

Usually, new devices would have an internet website with the details about a device almost similar to what was provided on the user guide on acquisition. However, the internet site of the manufacturer of the device provides the means to communicating directly any malfucntions requiring technical resolutions. Surt the internet once more attempting to acquire details about the device acquired. Usually, similar devices with similar issues would provide means to resolutions. Where for example, internet blogs of similar devices produces results.

Trying to connect with Cisco. VPN is connected then get error message of Clean Access Server is not available.

This is most likely either a problem with the software running on your computer or the Cisco Clean Access Server is currently unavailable.
Some things that you can try with the Clean Access software to get it to start responding again include:

  1. Right-mouse clicking on the Cisco NAC agent icon in the tray (lower right-hand corner of the screen) and make sure that "Popup Login Window" is selected with a checkmark
  2. Right-mouse clicking on the Cisco NAC agent icon in the tray, and select Properties and check that the "Discovery Host" entry is filled in and not corrupted. If it is missing or corrupted, then you will need to contact your company's helpdesk for the host information.
If both of the above items seem to be in order, then most likely the host on your company network is unavailable. Call your company's helpdesk in order to determine if this is the case.

Client can not surf or ping specific web address - Cisco router


I am not sure but I believe the IP address is not correct. The trace goes to the following address:

on my machine. This is only a service provider I believe and not an end website. Have you checked and verified the ip address with the contact organization? Just because you can run a trace route on an ip address does not make accessible.

The cisco could also be blocking the outbound connection at your end.

Problem with my supervisor Desktop


chat has to be enabled in order for the cisco agent to communicate properly. if the firewall is blocking the chat then the agent will disappear from the queue but the agent will still be able to receive calls.

Cisco VPN not working


please call dlink tech support at 877-453-5465. just an advise on how to handle the call when you reach dlink tech support (agent); do not agree to call back after you troubleshoot with them (they'll be giving you a case id reference# and be advising you to check your pc or call "who" and call them back to continue the troubleshooting). insist to the agent that he need to resolve the problem asap (by the way, agents are not allowed to drop the call or they'll be dead-history!). and if the agent still insisted you to call back, ask for a "senior level technician" to finish the job (escalate the problem).
fyi: dlink tech support handling time to resolve a call is 15 to 18 minutes only. if you reach that 15-18 minutes (max) time the agent will think of a way for you to call back (advising you to check with your pc manufacturer, check with your ISP, call microsoft to update your software, etc... non-sense!) they need to do this in order to reach their handling time (agents need to reach 21 to 25 billable calls, and billable calls are "solution provided", "resolved", and "dropped call"). ---- believe me, i was one of them and repented.
