Question about RIM BlackBerry Pearl Smartphone
It seems by doing a bit of research, that this problem is frequent for 8130 users. The device will automatically shut off its radio antenna. Even after a backup/restore, remove and repl battery, and manually turning the antenna back on - the device continually turns it off. Most commonly (and conveniently for someone) this occurs almost right after the one year warranty has expired....almost to the day in my case. And of course, theres another 6 months waiting for eligibility for hardware upgrade. My conclusion is obvious... They lock you into a contract, and force you to pay through the nose for a new device, or to have it repaired. I could find no other advice or fix for this other than smashing it on the driveway... at least providing an outlet for the anger produced by this technical hardware scam. Any other suggestions?
It may be a corrupted file during startup operations. If you
haven't done so already, I would try removing battery and reinserting.
A third notable point would be to make sure you have sufficient battery
life. BB devices wont operate radio with lower than 15% battery...
Go into Manage Connections and click in the box next to Mobile Network.
Hope it helps
