Question about Roper RAS8445KQ Top Load Washer

Roper RAS8445KQ0 spins but not fast enough

The machine goes through all cycles, but doesn't spin the clothes fast enough (they are very wet after the full cycle). The last few times, my wife can smell something "burning" like a belt--but I can't find one. I checked to make sure it is spinning and it is. I also checked to see if I could find anything under the basket per/one of the solutions on Fixya. Also tried turning the basket manual and wasn't able to do it.
thanks

If the clutch is slipping on the transmission it would still spin? What do I do to change the clutch or do I need to change the transmission?
    What parts are required?
    Thanks

If it has no belt, seams like the clutch is slipping in the transmission, hence the burning smell

HI, your unit dose not have a belt. it is a direct drive system that has a transmission. this is motor failure the actual motor is weak, due to internal windings breakdown. the burning smell is coming form the motor itself. it is recommended to replace thsi failing motor asap. this is a fire hazard at this point.

IF your clutch or trans mission was the issue, your machine would sound like a Air plane taking off during the spin cycle. you would hear very loud noises.

Kenmore Series 70 Top Loading Washing Machine Model # 110.20722991 Serial# CL 1134809 Hello, Our washing machine is leaving our clothes soaking wet when finished. What could the problem be?

2 things are possible. Can you tell if the spin cycle is engaging? If the spin cycle is not engaging properly or very fast, then the water will not leave the clothes. less likely is that the machine is not draining the water away properly or fast enough.

Cloths Soaked after Spin Cycle

If the motor has a transmission, it could be stuck in 1st gear. I think the agitator running is normal.

Broken washer/dryer

This sounds like a motor control board is faulty. Please load a couple of towels in the machine run it. Watch the machine as it goes through its' cycles.

1. Do the towels tumble when the machine is washing ?
2. When it begins to spin, does it spin one way at a fast pace or does it spin one way and then the other ?

Answering these two questions will help in troubleshooting your problem.
