SOURCE: Refrigerator

Have looked at the schematics for this cabinet and am unsure as to the location of both defrost thermostats as unclear on drawings. The purpose of the defrost thermostat is to overide the heater and end the defrost cycle, once the temperature on the evaporator is high enough (normally around 0'C). If you have two then one will probably control the heaters going off and the other may well control the fan, for coming back on. I.E. once the defrost has ended the second sensor will tell the fan when the coil is cold enough to come on, this prevents heat being pushed into the main area after a defrost cycle. If you feel competent enough then I would bypass the heater thermostat temporarily and see if the heaters kick in. The other thing to check is that you have a resistance across the two ends of the defrost heater. In my experience the heater is the most likely to fail, the sensor sometimes fail and the timers rarely fail. The age of your cabinet would suggest the heaters. Please do not leave the sensor bypassed as it performs an essential role. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: Constant freezing up

Doug, This model has an adaptive defrost board. You can put it into a forced defrost through the control panel. Most of the time I have been finding the control board (Jazz) board to be the culprit. To enter into a forced defrost, open the right door only. Hold the light switch down. Press the refrigerator temp down key 3 times. Release the light switch. Display should show Fd. Press the refer temp down key 1 more time to confirm. Toggle between short S and long L defrost by pressing the refer temp up key. For testing, use the L. Press the refer temp down key once more and you are now in defrost. Now, if you want you can peel the freezer back panel off to see if the heater is coming on. With it in forced defrost you should hear sizzling and popping after a while. To get out of the test mode, just close both doors. The Jazz board, part 12002449, is in line with a defrost bi metal that sits on the evap. If the bi-metal is bulged, that could be the problem. Like I said earlier, I have found in most cases the Jazz board itself to be the problem. Hope this helps you understand the refer a little better...Catriver.

SOURCE: Freezer/refrigerator compressor running constantly

th ebi-metal is a thermostat which shuts the defrost heater on/off, but doesnt actually put the unit into defrost. if it were bad the defrost heater would never go on resulting in massive build up of ice on back wall of freezer, and noticable refrigeration sect. cooling.. dont know how you know the compressor never shuts down, but if that the case perhaps you have a sealed system/ freon issue. try removing the back panel of freezer section and check the evaporator coil. you shuld have an even frost pattern over the entire evap coil. if theres just frost over the top 1or 2 coils, and the rest of coil is shiny aluminum , thats an indication of a sealed system issue.( 5 year part warr by manufacture) def not a do it yourself issue...but that would,, depending on extent of restriction/loss of freon,, cause freezer to freeze and defrost eratically, and the compressor would be running constantly trying to achieve a good stable temp

SOURCE: defrost timer board for mzd2766geq

Defrost control board is in the top of the refrigerator behind the two levers that control the temperature. You have to take off the plastic cover. There are two screws and then you slide to cover to the side to remove. The board is in a white plastic housing.

Could be the t stat not shutting the unit off..so it runs all the time untill it freezes the evaporator in the the freezer then it runs and runs and gets hot...or if it has had a compressor replace before..the freon level what not put back in thr right way..meaning its overcharged, or undercharged..this will also do this...The coils are dirty under the unit...

you say its operational again, does that include the cooling as well, or is it running and not cold. if its running and cold, and it was not running when it was previously discovered warm, then your problem is likely with the cold temperature control that you adjusted to get it going. When you first adjusted both controls to the coldest setting, did the unit kick on then or shortly thereafter? then absolutely that is your problem.

My Beaumark Bottom Freezer Refrigerator Doesn't Work

problem is probably that the evaporator is frozen up preventing circulation of air and the fan is jammed with ice.
remove the back panel inside the freezer. melt off the ice with a hairdryer taking care not to heat up any stats mounted on the pipework.
appliance will now work but this is a temporary repair. you must find out the cause of the ice build-up ie why not defrosting.
for starters, check the defrost heater and the thermal cut-out inseries with it.
let me know how you get on and what you find. make sure the fan is free to rotate.

Freezer/Fridge work SOMETIMES

Sounds like you have a bad relay on the compressor or a bad compressor. If the compressor is a Tecumpseh brand then it is most likely the problem.

Icemaker issue: cubes melting at the bottom causing water leak out the front

J, sounds like your dispensor flapper is not closing properly and you are drawing warm air up into the ice bucket. This model had an issue where the flapper pin holder was part of the housing and would break off. They have a kit now that fixes that problem. The only other thing it could be would be low freezer temps or it's staying in defrost too long. With out being there, I would start with the dispensor flapper. Check it out and post back..
