How to make gears/teeth on lower part of steering line up on 268-H T Wheel Horse line up? Rmove deck, orwhat? There is some wear on the teeth, & was bumping last time I mowed. Now, won't turn at all.

There is a spacer/bushing on the very bottom of the steering column. With wear the bushing fails and lets the steering column/and gear on the bottom of it slip down to the point that the gears don't mesh. Replace the Bushing.

How to fix the toe out problem on my 2010 craftsman lawnmower?

Your gonna have steering rods called tie rods going to each spindle (wheel). Most lawnmowers dont have threaded tie rod ends where you can unbolt it and turn it in or out to achieve perfect alighnment. If its a larger expensive tractor you will find this and its a easy fix but most likely you just have a bend in one of the tie rods or on some cheaper models there could be a plastic bushing warn out causeing play in the front end.( Being able to slightly turn wheels without steering wheel turning) I would most likely say you have a bent steering rod or two... I have a sears craftsman riding lawnmower 5 years old. It will steer only hard to the left and will not turn to the right. the steering wheel turns but the mower does not. any suggestions

I had the same problem with my 15 year old Craftsman lawn tractor. I tried to adjust the steering travel but it gave me marginal relief for a year until the steering failed with my steering wheel spinning freely and the wheels free to go left and right. The left bias for steering indicates that the steering shaft pinion weld was shearing prior to failure.

I took the steering apart and found that the drive pinion gear was sheared off the end of the steering shaft at the weld. I replaced the shaft and sector gear to fix this issue.

This fix requires good amount of mechanical disassembly to get the replacement parts in place so you might need to go to a shop to get a mechanic to fix this if you aren't set up for this kind of fix by disconnecting the mower deck and jacking up the front end to access the steering gear assembly and steering arm links.

I have a 42" craftsman tractor... when you turn all the way to left the wheels get stuck... can I adjust anything?

What happens when you turn right? Does it turn as sharp as it used to? Almost sounds like the steering gear teeth have slipped and now it is steering to far to the left. You'll have to check the steering sector gears at the bottom of the steering column.

Hit Object - Steering gear shifted....decreasing right turn to 15 degrees...increased left turn to 90 degress. How best to reset?

look down at the base of the steering column and you should notice that the steering is like two gears faceing each other. when you hit an object hard enough it is possible for the gears to jump out of alignment, simply loosen and realign, gears should be facing each other equally, to give you the same turn radius, left and right

The steering assembly your mower has is very difficult to repair. Thank God they no longer make that type. Forget about trying to tighten that screw, it won't solve your problem anyway. Believe me, you should take it to a repair shop.
