Question about Maytag MAH6700AWW Neptune Front-Load Washer
It sounds like you have broken the switch which keeps the door latched when not in use as well as locks when the washer is started. These latches often fail when someone forces the door open to add more clothes without pushing the pause button AND waiting until the "locked" light goes off. Older children and teens and yes, uninformed men, are apt to do this. You will need a repair person.
