No sound comes out when i plug my ipod in.

I just got a bought a car from some one with a avic-f90bt. i did not get the manual with it. i am not much of a guru in this area. i have check all the settings and i cant seem to get it to work. when i plug a flash drive in it, it works fine, but not my ipod. it says it playing and the volume is turned up. there must be some kind of setting i missed somewhere.

thanks for the help.

i tried that, i set up all of that.when i plug it in it brings up my Ipod and all the music/plat list/albums/ets. alto its says its playing i do not hear anything. i have a friend that had a flash drive that he uses for his car and it worked in mine fine. From my research I'm pretty sure it has to do with the cord I'm using. i was using the cord that came with my Ipod. however a friend told me that i needed a special heavy duty cord, i got one from Amazon. i don't have it yet so this is unconfirmed.

P.S. i got the car with the avic-f90bt already in it.

Hey buddy, go through the av settings and it should say something about Input 1 and Input 2 or something. Click on input 1 until it says IPOD, should be good to go.

When i turn my car on the my avic-f90bt pioneer goes on but after about 20 seconds shuts right off again and continues doing the same thing over and over again

Check your wiring. Sounds like you've got a bad ground, or missed a 12v source somewhere. Remember - There is a 12v constant that keeps your radio constantly tied in (so your clock stays correct, etc) and a 12v Ignition/ACC which tells your radio when you've turned the car ON or in ACC mode (which turns the radio on).
If you've mixed the two up, you'd probably get the results you're getting.

This might help; I'm no tech expert- I don't know if you already have it or not, but the new 2.0 download solves some of the problems related to freezing and booting up.
