Re: Jenn-air self cleaning oven
Hi,
Instructions
Things You'll Need:
- Hot water Dishwashing soap Scrub brush Paper towels Vegetable oil Cooking brush Oven cleaner Kitchen spray cleanser
-
Step 1
Turn the dial of the Jenn-Air Electric Grill to the off position and let the grill cool completely before cooking.
-
Step 2
Remove the grill grates by lifting them straight up off the grill.
-
Step 3
Wash the grates with hot water, regular dishwashing liquid and a scrub brush. Dry well with paper towels.
-
Step 4
Season the grates by brushing them lightly with vegetable oil and removing the excess with paper towels.
-
Step 5
Remove and clean the ventilation grate located in the center of the electric grill whenever it appears dirty. Simply clean with dishwashing soap and water and dry well before replacing.
-
Step 6
Remove the control knobs by pulling them straight up. Wash the dials with dishwashing soap and water, dry well and replace.
-
Step 7
Wash the grill-rocks located underneath the grill grates whenever they appear dirty or greasy. The grill-rocks can be washed by hand with dish soap or placed in the dishwasher. For burnt-on grease, spray the grill-rocks with an oven cleaner and let them sit overnight. Rinse well the next morning.
-
Step 8
Wipe down the surface of the electric grill with paper towels and a regular kitchen cleanser after each use.
-
Step 9
Check the grease jar each time you clean the grill. The grease jar is located underneath the grill and can be removed by unscrewing the jar. Dispose of any grease that has accumulated in the jar and wash the jar with soap and water.

I have an old jenn-air kitchen oven and no manual. I tried to clean it by turning dial to clean and locking it. It's been making a nice noise, but I don't know when or how to stop it or if it is cleaning itself.
I'll know eventually, but it addresses the problem.
