I just got a new PowerEdge T300 server with an embedded SATA Controller. I am attempting to install Windows 2003 on the server, but am getting a blue screen with an error IRQ_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL...

The server should have came with an OpenManage CD.
You boot to the CD and it walks you through setting up arrays and installing the OS.
If you don't have the CD you can download it.
Go to support.dell.com Drivers and Downloads and enter your server's Service Tag.
Dell servers have lifetime phone support so give them a call if you need more assistance. (800) 945-3355

This stop code, "0x0000000A irql_not_less_or_equal" normally refers to a driver problem. So this is one of the few times where the files that the BSOD lists actually is important. Next I would try to boot the computer into safemode and reinstall/drivers related to that file to see if this make a difference.

Gateway e-9425r was setup to boot via PXE. I want to boot off a raid. Have 2 250gb sata drives in system. Loading raid driver from gateway site on floppy. Windows install and bios don't detect raid or...

Copy RAID driver to mini diskette.
Boot server using Windows Server 2003 CD
The moment you see the blue setup screen press F6
After the setup runs for a little while it will ask you if you have any additional drivers you need to install
Then insert your mini diskette with the RAID driver and respond to prompts to load it.
Windows should no recognize the RAID controller and let you complete the installation.

Blue screen when loading windows 2003 server

if you get the blue screen code and type it in www.dogpile.com you can find some answers there, i would sugest that you reset all the bios settings to factory default, that normaly fixes the bluescreen on instalations, you may need the motherboard drivers for the sata and put them on floppy for the system to install the hard drive drivers.
one problem i do come accross is that sata drives are funny so in most bios settings there is a sata setting that switches back to IDE it was for backward compatability problems.
good luck

Graphic driver problem

The Intel 852/855, 865G, and 945G video chipsets are integrated with numerous desktop, laptop, and server motherboards. Older versions of the drivers for these chipsets, often installed at the OEM factory, may conflict with patches or other drivers on each of Windows XP Home, XP Pro, and 2003 Server. Blue-screen-of-death and memory dump errors will result from running old versions of this driver. The text of these messages includes:
  • “DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL”
  • Driver conflict error: “ialmnt5.sys
  • DLL communication error: “ialmdev5.dll”
The error often occurs following Windows Service Pack upgrades, Windows Update installs, and the running of new video games. After the error appears it is usually possible to boot into safe-mode (restart and press F8 at the BIOS screen to start in safe-mode) to install the newest version of the driver. Download and install newest driver version from: http://support.intel.com/support/graphics/

I think your best bet will be to update every driver on your system and to try disabling advanced video features.

Or purchase a separate video card to install in your Windows 2003 server’s PCI or AGP slot and which already has drivers built for Windows 2003. Install that video card in the system and then disable the video Intel video chipset that is on your motherboard. (You can find closeout and refurbished video cards that might work well on sites like eBay or geeks.comno-web-bugs.gif)
