Or all blower motors on electric kenmore 80 series 220 or 110 current

Speaking of these United States, here's how that goes.
In this country, dryers are called 220, but they are really 110 twice!
So, on the back of the dryer is a plug with 3 or 4 prongs.
( hope you can get this from my description. )
On a 3 prong plug, the two "slanted" prongs are each hooked to 110 volt p service.
The "L" shaped prong is a ground.

If you have a 4 pronged plug, the two flat straight prongs are 110 volt each, and the "L" shaped and the round prong are both grounded.

FYI: Each of the 110 volt wires has a different function. One powers the motor, the other the heating element.
Be Blessed.

I have a Frigidaire FAFS4473LW Steam Washer- 3 prong. I moved into a new place with a 4 prong. Do I need a 4 prong cord, or can I change the 4 prong adapter on the wall?

Hi nancy huerta...

You can change the cord or the receptical...
It will be easier to change the cord...
Purchase a four prong plug cord that will fit into your receptical, then wire your dryer for 4 wire instead of three wire use.
To see a picture and explanation of how to wire your dryer for a 4 wire plug go to the following webpage.

The dryer cord does not match my plug. is that cord required or can I buy another dryer cord and use that instead?

cord for dryer should be 3 prong and center being L shape or a 4 prong dryer corder with an L shape either one is fine aslong as its a dryer cord ,,,, donot put range cords on dryers they use different amperages and could trip your breaker and cause electrical overheating of wiring....

We just moved and this house has a 4 prong dryer plug and our last house had a 3 prong dryer plug. We bought a new plug and hooked it up as it says and still nothing. Any help would be much appreciated!

You may have inadvertently incorrectly wired the dryer power cord. The following link epxlains the differences between the 3-wire and 4-wire configurations:

Make sure you have the wires connected properly at the terminal block. Pay particular attention to the difference in how the ground and neutral wires are connected. If you have any questions, please post back and let me know. I hope this helps you.

Change a 3 prong plug to 4 prong

Is it an electric dryer or gas dryer? If it's a 120 volt gas dryer, then no, you need to keep it on a 3 prong cord. If it's an electric dryer, then yes it is possible to install a four prong plug onto it. Although it isn't recommended.
The main thing you need to know is which wire is ground. From the machine, it should be the green wire. On the plug, there should be on prong that is slightly longer than the other 3. The ground has to be the first one in the wall receptacle and the last one out. So the slightly longer one is where the green ground wire needs to be wired in. The other two wires are both power so it doesn't really matter which prong you wire those wires at.
Once again I'll remind you that it isn't recommended to convert 3 to 4 prongs like that. Just be careful and make sure you aren't touching any live wires.

I don't have the same plug as the one on my kenmore 70 dryer

Hi, You can either change the outlet or change the cord. Easiest would be to get a new caord. Make sure you get the right one. There are two different ground posts.
One is straight and one is L shaped.
I hope this helps you. Please let me know if I can assist you further.

Estates dryer by whirlpool has a 3 prong plug. the wall has a 3 prong w/an L shape. where can I get a wall switch to match the 3 prong without the L shape as this is a straight shape

Home Depot, Lowes, etc will sell these type plugs in the electrical section. If installing yourself, be sure you get the wires in correct positions, let me know if you need info on that.

Wall plug is 3 prong, dryer is 4 prong...is there an adaptor available?

The following link explains the wiring scheme for 3 and 4 prong power cords. I know the instructions are for converting from a 3 to a 4 prong, but if you look under the "Additional Notes" section it explains how to convert back to a 3-prong if you are currently using a 4-prong.

I hope this helps you. If you have any questions, please let me know.
