TV ALLIGNMENT When running the test pattern the blue is out of sync,it looks like there is 2 blue lines.

You have bad convergance problems solder bad connections if that dont work then replace the convergance ics

5.4.3 LASER BEAM PITCH ADJUSTMENT
There are two laser beam pitch adjustment procedures: one for 400 dpi, and one
for 600 dpi. These adjustments use the following SP modes.
· SP2-109-1: Laser Beam Pitch Adjustment - 400 dpi
· SP2-109-2: Laser Beam Pitch Adjustment - 600 dpi
· SP2-109-3: Laser Beam Pitch Initial Setting - 400 dpi
· SP2-109-4: Laser Beam Pitch Initial Setting - 600 dpi
· SP2-902-2, no.12: IPU Test Pattern - Cross Stitch - 400 dpi
· SP2-902-2, no.13: IPU Test Pattern - Cross Stitch - 600 dpi

1. Perform SP2-109-8 (Beam Pitch Data Reset).

2. Input the value for 400 dpi that is printed on the LD unit into SP2-109-1.
Use the value printed after "P" on the new LD unit as shown below.
NOTE: Do not use values printed after a "V".

(These value numbers are on a sticker inside the machine with a UPC code on it. The numbers are just under the UPC barcode. And example number looks like this: "15980300151P: 120, 172", so the example 400 dpi value here is "120".)

3. Press the "Enter" key.

4. Perform SP2-109-3.

5. Print the 400-dpi test pattern onto A3 (11"x17") paper using SP2-902-2 no.12
(cross stitch). (See Service Tables - Test Pattern Printing - Section 4.2.3, pasted below.)

6. Write the value of SP2-109-1 on the test pattern which was input at step 2.

7. Change the value of SP2-109-1 and print another test pattern, repeating steps
2 to 5. Print about 5 patterns with different values for SP2-109-1 (e.g. "48", "96",
"192", "240").

8. Check this test pattern. If the laser beam pitch is not correct, the image looks
like a black vertical stripe pattern.
NOTE: If the laser beam pitch is correct, the vertical stripe is not so noticeable.
If the value is not correct, the vertical stripe pattern is darker.

9. Adjust the laser beam pitch position until the thin lines are of uniform thickness
(no striping effect should appear on the printout), doing steps 2, 3, and 4. (In
step 2, input a value which is estimated to be correct, then do steps 3 and 4,
then if necessary go back to step 2 and try another value.)

10. After adjusting the laser beam pitch for 400 dpi, adjust the laser beam pitch for
600 dpi, using the same procedure as for 400 dpi (use the SP modes for 600
dpi).

4.2.3 TEST PATTERN PRINTING (SP2-902)
NOTE: Do not operate the machine until the test pattern is printed out completely.
Otherwise, an SC may occur.

1. Access the SP mode which contains the test pattern you need.

2. Press exit, then touch the "Copy Mode" key on the operation panel to access
the copy mode display.

3. Select the paper size.

4. Press the "Start" key to print the test pattern.

5. After checking the test pattern, exit copy mode by touching the "SP Mode" key.
Reset the test pattern to 0.

6. Exit the SP mode.

These adjusments listed in the manual require removal of a service panel and mechanical adjustment of the laser mounts, so it should be done by a qualified technician.

However, these test procedures can indicate whether or not this is the problem with your printer.

If it has an auto convergnce select that and wait a minute the TV will adjust itself and give you a clear picture. If the TV does not have an auto convergence and just regular convergence than select this. It will give you a grid pattern on your TV and you have to move the curser (using TV remote) and adjust each "point" so that each line is perfectly white. If you notice red or blue anywhere on that "line" then you have to adjust using the up, down, left and right arrow keys to "line up the red and blue lines with the nearest white line. It taked time and patience to do, but when completed, all lines on the grid pattern should be pure white and you will have a great looking picture. You have to do this will all TV inputs (Video1, Video2 and so on) the reason Zoom looks good, is because you never used that screen as much and so the lenses didn't have a chance to get out of synch.

The screen is distorted ... double words and double picture

My rear projection television is showing a double picture with the blue out of allignment. It also shows a bow on the top and a bow on the bottom.


The tv have a problems known as a convergence problems,tv convergence board it is dead.Tv have R,G,B colors lines mis alignments,have colors pictures shadows or 3D pictures look alike?Yes.The tv convergence board it is dead.Must require replacing 2 STK convergence ICS and some or all of it resistors too.To fixed the tv convergence board to solved the tv picture convergence problems.The tv shop,will cost u like $300-350 for parts and labors.

My has a double picture with a red ghostly picture in the background. Any information on how to fix the problem? I have changed the cables, viewed the different colors, tv input, and looked over the menu....

So you should do a convergence about twice a year to make sure nothing is out of whack.Please run the convergence feature on your TV. Its giving you duble image because the red, green, and blue guns are disaligned. By running convergence it will realign the guns properly. You need to run the convergence feature at leat onece a week. Please note this is only for CRT rear projection tv's and I assumed it was. If it is an LCD rear projection, then there's nothing you can do to fix such thing, but call a repair person. But if doing the convergence doesn't fix the problem, you need to call a repair person. But I hope you won't have to. Please refere to your tv's manual on how to do converegence and how to overlap the crosses because every CRT projection tv is different.

These are the Tests that should be run to determine which board is bad.You should call a good TV Tech if you are not familiar with this TV.
- The DDP1011 on the DMD board has a feature to display internal test patterns.
- DNle, which is an end port in the digital board, has a feature to display internal test patterns.
- The analog board sends signals to ADV7402 on the digital board.
- The analog board is the first output and the digital board is the second one, followed by DMD, which is the final one.
■ Diagnosis By Module
1. Access Service Mode
(In Standby mode, press "Mute", "1", "8", "2" and "Power" to turn the screen on and enter service mode)
2. Check if there is an error in the DMD board
DDP1011 → TEST PATTERN → Press the right arrow key:
Options of FULL WHITE, BLACK, RED, GREEN and BLUE PATTERN are displayed on the screen.
If "Pattern" does not appear, this is a DMD board error.
3. Check if there is an error in the digital board before the DMD.
When the DMD board has been determined to be error free based on the test patterns:
FACTORY MODE → DNIe → TEST PATTERN normal display: no error in the digital board.
If "Pattern" does not appear, it may be from a DMD board or ATI error or there is an analog board malfunction.
4. Check if there is an error in the analog board.
Check for a power signal from the analog to the digital boards

I was just given this t.v because friends couldn't figure out what is wrong with itl. The colors don't line up right,looks kinda blurry depending on the lighting of the program being watched. How do i fix...


According to the manual:
1) go to the "TV Main Menu"
2) Select "Screen"
3) Select Adjust Projection TV (obviously only if a projection TV).
This then allows you to adjust the TV's 3-colors. Selecting GREEN CENTERING brings up a control panel that lets you center the green projection tube on the screen. Selecting RED CONVERGENCE or BLUE CONVERGENCE lets you align the Red & Blue projector tubes. Centre the green projector tube 1st. Then adjust the red & blue until the test pattern on the TV screen appers white.
