Re:"shutdown after video comes up the green power light stays on but the set will not shut down while changing channels."

I do not think this has anything to do with logic circuits and video processing. When you stay on one channel the horizontal and vertical alignment circuit works more than if you change channels all the time.
This is just a guess, but have a look at convergence ICs. when you keep changing channels the power amp ICs (or transistors) go on and off, if one of them is defective it will overheat and shut down.
Other possibility is an internal tuner failure. Also test using a DVS or VCR.

Tv stays black

Do you have audio and if so can you change channels to hear other programs? If so have a bad vertical IC. Have a tech turn up the screen control to see a white horizontal line. By your question I would say this will correct the problem.

Sony KV-27V22 scrambled picture and loud buzzing audio

the variation from higher channels from lower channels, few things changes eg frequency, voltage, and current.
take your tv to a w/shop and have the following
tunner voltage pulse variation on a avo meter has you change channels. if the difference of voltage is not unform when you are changing from to channel then you should change the control ic on the rf stage or check the capacitors a round the rf ic for variations in value.

We have perfect picture but no sound when changing channel you get a sharp noise and thats it 1 reset once 2 ptoblem in transmission 3 as noise is there so your audio section is alright. the problem is sound signal in not reaching to audio section or print break in that line or some one has mistunned sound if section coil. hope this will help.

Chang hold a picture

I think I already answered this question but here it is again. Your problem while watching cable tv sounds like a bad tuner with little or no adjacent channel rejection. The problem with the DVD and I think to some extent the cable sounds like a video processing problem. This unit has digital video circuits and could easily cause the problem you describe. The easiest and probably the cheapest solution would be to replace the board with a refurbed unit. Two companies which sell refurbed boards are PTS Electronics, Bloomington, IN ( and Tri-State Module, Evansville, IN ( Good luck.
