I purchased a generic dvd writer (it has no branding as its from china, sold in most high street shops in the uk), as a dvd writer it works perfectly as a player it works perfectly, it even plays cd's. However it has a problem with a game disk. The original game disk works but the expansion game disk does not work and is not reconigsed, it spins and makes noises then nothing, these disks are both store bought too and not copies, but only the main game disk works. The expansion disk works as I have tried it on my original dvd rom drive which has now been replaced by the writer, please help if you can.

Durabrand is a generic electronics brand by Wal-Mart. Durabrand does not make the products or service them. They just buy electronics from China and re-brand them as DuraBrand. These days repairs cost more then replacing the DVD player. Try looking for a new DVD player or look for a local electronics repair shop.

Contact 'Emerson' which is really 'Funai' at
1-800-256-2487 complain and they will send a disc to up-grade the 'DVD' recorder to
accept the '8x' discs which are cheaper, plus Staples has some 8x disc. 50 for
$19.95 a good street price, 8x DVD-R generic Staples brand. Get the upgraded disc and go to Staples and
get the generic Staples discs. I hope this helps and good luck. Please vote appropriately and leave a message.
That’s a tricky one, because legally you have no rights, none of the UK laws apply as the product was purchased abroad. Similar issue with me when I purchased a Mio in China, I was thinking because Mio is the number one device in China I would be able to get the updates here, but unfortunately that was incorrect. I contacted Consumer direct and the UK law states that issues with devices need to be perused via the retailer; your sales contract is with them. From what Mio have said that is correct, allot of sat nav companies alter software for that country, the one I purchased in China looks exactly like the ones here in the UK, but upon comparing maps and software they are completely different. I managed to get the device refunded via China, posted the device to a mate and he sorted it out for me. I now have a Mio device which I purchased in France and have no issues at all.
if you have tried your uk sim, then it may be sim locked and possibly to chinese networks, you can unlock iphones, but replica unsure, try your local phone dealer, not main high street chains but those little shops that sell second hand.
