Make sure it's not disabled in the BIOS.

If it's enabled, it's probably faulty and you probably have no choice but to replace the motherboard or add a video card in one of the slots.

Hope I helped,
Tom

No signal input wen connected to the VGA port of my Dell M1210 (Win 7). using an VGA to DVI cable. If i connect the CG223 to an old laptop (vga) it works fine.

The Dell M1210 hos only a VGA output or s-video output, both being analog. If you are connecting the M1210 VGA to the DVI input on the monitor then this will not work. You need to connect to the VGA input on the monitor.

Hello, try going into your start menu on the bottom bar of you computer. From there click on your controle pannel, in your controle pannel you will find an icon that says ADD HARDWARE, open that and follow the prompts. This should hopefully work for you. I hope it helps.

Video controller

If it's the drivers for the laptop, you can find them at Dell's support site. If it's the drivers for the monitor (some monitors need their own drivers in order to work) you can find them at the monitor manufacturer's site or driverguide.com

Screen gone wild

If your external video is working, most likely your VGA controller is good. Your laptop is using the same controller to control internal and external video. It could be two things that would cause your problem:
1. LCD VGA cable that connect your LCD to the laptop
2. Bad LCD VGA connector on the board(cold soldered joints)
3. BAD LCD panel

Any of the following repairs will require disassembling of your laptop.

External VGA controller

The VGA adapter is only for use with Pocket Power Point: 1. Open a PowerPoint presentation. 2. Go to the View menu and select External VGA on the View Show On drop down menu. 3. To make the presentation display automatically, under Advance Slide choose Automatic and enter in the amount of time in seconds between slides. 4. Say OK to that screen, then go to the View menu again and select View Show and now the presentation should display on the VGA monitor in 640x480 and 256 colors.
