Hello stellasafo, and to all of you that have Epson R280, RX580(mine),rx595(mine), rx620 and similar RX's, plus CX700F's.
If you get a NEW CARTRIDGE that your printer SAYS its EMTPY here's what you need to do to fix this problem:
You need to reset the cartridge's printhead chipset by reinstalling the cartridge. You can do this by :
PRESSING SETUP ON THE PRINTER, SELECT MAINTENANCE, PRESS OK,THEN SELECT CHANGE INK CARTRIDGE, PRESS OK, THEN PULL THE CARTRIDGE OUT , THEN WAIT 1 MINUTE, THEN REINSTALL THE CARTRIDGE PRESSING FIRMLY UNTIL YOU HERE IT CLICK BACK IN TO PLACE,THEN PRESS OK, YOUR PRINTER SHOULD THEN GO THRU A CHARGING CYCLE AND THEN AFTER ABOUT ANOTHER MINUTE IT SHOULD TELL YOU ITS DONE. AND YOU SHOULD BE GOOD TO GO.
I have also had times that just turning it off, actually I unplugged it too, waited a minute and then plugged it back in and turned it back on and it was fixed.
There is also a troubleshooting guide in you maintenance program with some good tips also and a phone number for more help. Just click the help button until you get to a page that ask " what were you doing when the problem occurred"
Hope this helps.
holler back at me if you still have trouble @
