Question about Kitchen Ranges
I have one triple coil, underneath my MER5775RAB smooth top range, which instead of 3 is only heating on 2 coils. I am handy on older ranges where you just lift up the top, but never did this on any smooth top type models. Any Advice? I can't find a DIY manual to tell me this online. Your experience would be appreciated, as I would like to learn this, if possible. I am carefull to disconnect electric cords, and have replaced coils before, will no problems.
There will be 2 or 3 screws under the front edge of the top. Take them out and top will hinge up similar to the older models.
Unplugg the range before touching any wires. There is voltage on the thermal limiter on the element even when the switch is off.
Once you have access to the element you can check for power and continuity just like on an older range.
Post back with any questions. I will see if I have a manual on pdf.
