Question about iRiver T20 MP3 Player

1 Answer

Iriver T20 space problem

The iRiver T20 has 1gb of space (this isn't the 512mb version!). I have transferred around 650mb onto it, so it has about 350mb of space left, yet I cannot transfer any further files onto it. I tried the support site at but the solutions there did not work, such as checking that the file I was transferring only had a certain amount of characters in the file name. No matter how short the name of the file is, it will not transfer over. Any ideas how to fix this?

This could be because the music type, for example you are probably putting mp3's on your player where wma's are far smaller.

If you haven't try this well visit this link download this software and the songs you want on your computer convert them on this software to WMA's.

Then upload them on to your player then see if you can store more.

When they explain on it this is a 1GB mp3 player it's more less then 1GB for example my mp3 players 2 GB but when i plug it in it says 1.8GB.

Good luck. Hope my solution was helpful.

My H320 does not appear to work with windows vista. It will not accept new music now i have upgraded my PC to windows vista. There is still plenty of space left on the harddrive of the Iriver. Any new music...

Windows Vista is a new program with tons of errors on it because, in order to reach the due date, they didn't fix the problem and just gloated how the finished it on time. So there's a good chance that Vista is the problem. Could you use the H320 when the PC did not have Vista on it?

My iriver says that it has no memory left

YOu may want to back up everything you have on your H320 to your PC, then reformat the unit throught the main menu on the player. That should clear out anything that is eating up your memory. Once you have done that, then re-copy all your stuff back onto your player.

How can i transfer a movie from a dvd onto my iriver? i tried to rip the dvd to my laptop then to my iriver & i tried to cut and paste the files from media player but it didnt work.

You need to re-encode the video to a format / resolution / framerate the iriver will accept. You can look up specifics if you download your mp3 player's manual.

The older version of this tool works for me when I need to encode a video file to a format the mp3 player or pocket pc device will accept:

if that version has issues try the newer version

Pls help!!!

Make sure you have the latest version of Windows Media Player. XP has all the right drivers but the iRiver needs to synchronise with Media Player inorder to transfer music onto the player using the sync function. Get Media Player 10 or higher then plug the iRiver into the computer.

XP should display it as a drive in "My Computer". It may require a firmware upgrade. This can be downloaded from T20 Firmware Upgrade V1.71

No Guarantees....Hope this helps.
