Question about Gaggia Caffitaly K111 Coffee Maker

Gaggia k111 - coffee output is dead slow

Im not sure what the problem is at all, i called at my local gaggia store to buy some new coffee and the sales assistant informed me that as id had it five months id better descale it although she was keen to point out we only have soft water in northern ireland so id not have damaged it.

i came home and popped in the gaggia descale and since then ive not been able to use the machine at all.

i can make lovely frothy milk so if i read the handbook right its not an air block, anyone else any ideas please.

it was brand new off ebay but although i got a bargain id hate to bin it already so soon in.

i switch it on, leave it to heat a little anywhere from 10mins to a half hour and press the button, i used to be able to nip in, settle the baby then enjoyit in peace, now id need to wait an hour before its filled a full mug of coffee

    great theanks for the tip,

no white vinegar in the house, apart from making everything smell can i use brown.

i lately started filling it with my water from the kettle and now i think about it maybe its the fillament from the kettle thats blocked it. :(

it would be my luck to have ruined it with a cheap kettle.

ill take it out back and run the vinegar thru, it will make a nice change to the manure from the surrounding fields.

    ah thanks
    ciara is the name

    so hello!

tried rinsing it out with the vinegar but im gonna get another drop, i ran it out with fresh water after and although its still slow i wasnt able to try it as ive just found out after all the hassle in the gaggia shop from the pushy sales assistant that she sold me the grain tea drink which is nasty and not my usual crema chich are in simillar packets.

    ill keep you posted

    and thanks again

Hi; Sounds like you have either a stoppage or heating problem. Try flushing it with vineger. This may remove any residue from the descaling process. . Good luck.

I wouldn' think the tea would disable your machine, Unless the packet rupyured and the tea got into the system resulting in blockage of a passage. I'm know tea is some "flakey" stuff" and any filter or orifice would choke up if the pouch Spit out just a few flakes while being pressed.. How long have you had it since purchase from e-bay?E-bay has buyer protection. File a claim and possibly they will assist you with another unit or get you a refund. let me know your thoughts on that approach. I knowthose machines are very expensive in any currency. Good Luck, and I'll let you know when I find out more.

Not sure it will work for you but Our Bunn has a flex wire to run thru the tube weekly , and if we do not clean that tube it might take 20 minutes to make a pot where when cleaned it does 12 cups in 3 minute

When the machine is on and the heating has completed, pressing the buttons to make coffee has no effect. They just blink once and nothing happens. The steamer seems to work fine tho.

This happens to us sometimes and we find that the problem is with the capsule holder. Try taking the capsule holder apart and then twisting it together again. If it's not quite in the right position, the machine will not dispense the coffee!!

Water output too slow

Try to see how long takes whout coffee. If it is ok then the coffee is too fine or wed or the filter inside the holder need cleaning remove filter and wash it with hot water and brush so all holes to be open.
If after this you still have slow water without coffee the the pressure pump is not working properly and it need ither descaling or is complete damage so you need a new pump. Good luck.
