SOURCE: Kitchenaid dishwasher kudi24sewhi stops after filling
Hi canchild,
By your description this sounds as though the machine control board has failed. But you should test it first.
Go to Home Depot or Lowe's and pick up a non-contact voltage tester, like this one. It's a tool that you'll use more often than you think for this project and others around the home,
WARNING---> THESE TESTS REQUIRE YOU TO HAVE POWER ON! AVOID ANY EXPOSED WIRING OR ELECTRICAL TERMINALS THROUGHOUT THE TEST PHASE!!!
Now remove the 4 screws holding the kick panel to access the lower
section of your dishwasher. Set the dishwasher to run a normal load and
start it.
The sequence is the washer will send power to the water valve first,
test this with your new tool... it should light up if the tub is empty. If it's already full, power will not be applied to the valve. When the tub is
full, the board will send power to the main wash motor in about 1-2
minutes. Use your Voltstick on the main motor harness. If the board is
good, your stick will light up.
Now hit "Cancel"... this should activate the drain pump (it's on the
right, connected to the pump sump and has 2 wires feeding it). Again,
test with the Voltstick.
NOTE---> Your Voltstick may give you false positives... avoid this
by singling out individual wires to test. DON'T TEST "WIRE BUNDLES".
These tests will confirm whether or not the board is sending power to
the components in question. If you have power? The components have
failed OR the wiring to the components have become loose, broken or disconnected.
If you aren't getting power to the components, your board has failed and will need a replacement. The part number for it is 9743448 and lists for about $160.
Hope this helps!

Hi
If clean light is blinking then it may be an issue
with heater circuit, door switch or wash pump, please reset the
power to the dishwasher. After, 5 minutes check if you are still getting the
same error. If yes, then it is a water heating fault. To resolve this error try
pressing this reset sequence-- Heat Dry - Normal - Heat Dry - Normal or High
Temp - Air Dry - High Temp - Air Dry or Hi Temp Scrub, energy saver dry, Hi
Temp Scrub, energy saver dry. Now let the unit run for 2-3 minutes and
then you press the Cancel/Drain button and allow it to completely drain and
reset. If this doesn't work then it's an issue with the wash pump not pumping
the water past the heater efficiently or due to lack of water to heat. Please
make sure that heater is not open circuited and is heating the water
efficiently. You'll have to check the heater using a multimeter; the meter
should read between 3000 to 3300 ohms (Use multimeter on Rx1 ohm setting). If
heater is fine then make sure water pressure is optimum and fill valve is
working fine. Hope this helps... Please post back if you need more
information.
