I think there is some hardware conflict. Disassemble the RAM and anyother internal PCI accessories, like TV tuner card or any graphic card. Reinsert the minimal RAM and switch it on. If this is a problem with the Operating System, the HardDisk can be at fault, with some bad sectors in it.

Let us know the model and the entire config of your Mobtherboard and computer. Flashing the BIOS can be another alternative.

Thank you!

I removed the sd card and lost it and now my kurio7s wont go any further than the grey screen with the small computer blinking at me, what do I do now?

Try to insert another sd card and then try to power on the computer again. If that does not work try to reset it by removing the battery for 5 minutes and then replace it and try to power -up again with the sd card inserted.

Tried the recovery software on a SD card but it did not open the software

If you made the SD recovery on your computer through a sd slot or card reader it should work. You can't make the recovery sd through your vreader. Put it in the vreader while it is turned off, power it on and the vreader should start reprogramming. Then it will tell you to shut off your vreader and restart but make sure you take the sd card back out before restarting or it will just reprogram again, lol.

My Vtech V-reader freezes on calibration screen

I just found a solution to this: Turn off the vreader, then press & hold the help "?" button. While holding the "?" button, press power. My system bypassed the calibration step and booted correctly.

I got a vtech storio reader worked at 1st now is blue screen cant turn it of have 2 take batterys out have cleaned it and has new batterys

The blue screen seems to happen when you change the batteries (it's what happened to us). The blue screen indicates that there's a software problem, like when you boot up your computer and for some reason it freezes up. That software needs to be reinstalled. You'll lose anything that was saved on the v.reader, but at least you'll get it working again.

vtech could have made it a very simple problem to solve just by adding in their customer support: Blue Screen? follow these steps. But they don't, so here's how:

You'll need an SD card with at least 64mo of free space. If you want to use the one from your digital camera, transfert all of your pictures to the computer. Everything on the SD card will be erased.

Download the Recovery software from either link below (you can find both on the vtech website)

For the US version
http://contentcdn.vtechda.com/vtechkidsDownload/US/VReader/Tool/Recover/US-engRecoverCardTool.exe

For the Canadian english version
http://contentcdn.vtechda.com/vtechkidsDownload/CA-eng/VReader/Tool/Recover/CA-engRecoverCardTool.exe

This is the link the the website page itself:
http://www.vtechkids.com/download/ca/en

Run the program and follow the instructions (at least those are clear and easy to follow). Mine worked fine after that.

Hope that solves your problem.

Hope that solves it

Tomtom one (4N00.012) will not load up.

Your particular unit runs it's software from SD-Card. you need to check if the card is not damaged: while unpowered push the SD card to come out insert it in a card reader on your computer and see if it reads it ok, if it ask's you to format it it means it's damaged and should be replaced ( the sd card of your tomtom should be replaced with another SD card which you should buy from tomtom for your particular device not a generic one). if it reads just fine reinsert it and start the device again..And about the reset the correct procedure is: Press and hold the On/Off button until your device restarts. This can take more than fifteen seconds.904537f.gif
You should also install Tomtom Home on your computer, connect the device and update it if al the above failed (with a verified and working SD card inserted) - link for Tomtom Home: Windows, Mac
