Try booting in safemode .. to do that.. reboot computer, as soon as it starts coming up, hit f8, then with the menu that comes up hit, start in safe mode, when windows starts up, just change refresh rate back, and then reboot normal...

Answer
keep electronics away from your computer. Mobie phones etc. can distort the image shown on the screen for periods of time, usually when a text or call is coming through.

Answer
A nearby device can cause stray magnetic fields that will cause the display to be affected.
A problem inside the monitor will cause the display to have problems.
If somebody turns on their monitor nearby, the monitor's degaussing when it starts up will cause your monitor to dance wildly for a moment or two.

Answer well one major cause can be the weakness of the electron gun that fire electrons on the silicon plate (pixels) that produces image on the screen so there must be some problem in electron gun in my view

Tip

Screen goes blank after POST

If this problem occurs, it's usually after a monitor upgrade from CRT to LCD.

You're booting your computer, everything looks fine. The POST completes, Windows is starting up, then... Black screen.

You know both the card and monitor worked during the POST, so they must be functioning. So what changed?

Chances are the 'Refresh Rate' is set too high for the replacement monitor.

Put the old monitor back on and reboot.
  • Right Click the Desktop
  • Click Properties
  • Click Settings
  • Click Advanced
  • Click Monitor
  • Lower the refresh rate or set at optimal
  • Check the box 'Hide refresh rates this monitor can't display'
Shutdown, Switch back and try it now.

Good luck
Mike

Monitor say Input not supported. What does this

Your graphics card is set to a resolution of refresh rate that your monitor cannot handle, This can sometimes be one of the normal settings - there is not much you can do. Each monitor has a native resolution which the monitor should always be set at yours is:- 1280X1024

I have waves on my screen, what do I need to do to get rid of them?

you don't say whether your monitor is crt/tft....

either type the problem is likely to be refresh rate of the monitor...

try this... (xp pro sp2)

  1. Open Display in Control Panel.
  2. On the Settings tab, click Advanced.
  3. On the Monitor tab, in the Refresh Frequency list, click a new refresh rate
  • To open Display, click Start, click Control Panel, click Appearance and Themes, and then click Display.
  • The default refresh frequency setting is 100 Hertz, although your monitor may support a higher setting. Check your manufacturer's documentation for information regarding the settings your monitor supports.
  • A higher refresh frequency reduces any flicker on your screen, but choosing a setting that is too high for your monitor can make your display unusable and cause damage to your hardware.
  • Changes to the refresh frequency affect all users that log on to the computer.
good luck, rate if useful please

Frequency out of range

Try to set the monitor refresh rate to Adapter Default despite of Optimal or lower rate of refresh. For this first download the manual of your monitor and check what is the highest refresh rate your monitor can suport. Then goto the display properties and set the adapter refresh rate to Adapter Default. In most cases such problem is solved. You did not mentioned the OS. This method is applicable in Windows only. There may wrong setting of refresh rate. Most monitors work at 60 to 70 Hz refresh rate. Above that they tunned blank screen or out 0f range message displayed. Also check the output video signal. Please confirm technical specifications from the documentatation of the monitor.

New flat screen monitor humming noise

This could well be your refresh rate. Move your mouse pointer over any blank area of the screen and right click. Highlight and click on properties.Click on the settings tab, then on advanced then on to the monitor tab. You should see a setting for refresh rate eg. 75 Hertz. Change the refresh rate and the noise should disappear.
