Question about Garden

I have a mi-t-m pressure washer in the ca-series.The problem is the motor shuts down at times with out any reason. The first time I used it was on a house with a well supplied water. It worked fine, brought it home where I used it with no problem. It was used twice that first year. I then winterized it.The second year brought it out to the same house,I was using it for about a half hour when it just shut off with out any notice. I noticed there was back pressure in the engine when I tried to restart it. Once that was released it would almost start. I waited about 5 minutes then it restarted lasting only about 10 minutes. I then brought it back to the store where I brought it. They checked it out, They ran it for about 45 minutes saying they couldn't find anything wrong. I then winterized it. This year I did my house first.I ran it for an hour and a half with no problems. I went to another house to help him with the power washer. I ran it for about a half hour and the same problem happened as before when I was at the other house. It would run for only 5-10 minutes at a time before just shutting off. Oil level is good. what could it be?

Mi-t-m pressure washers have a Low Oil shutdown feature that turns off the motor, this is often causing similar problems on this kind of appliance.

Have oil checked, if oil is fine , then the sensor that controls oil pressure and activate the shut down should be replaced.

Electronic problems , such as a bad soldering joint for example, can also cause shutdown.

Sometimes a faulty pressure pump can also shut down erratically.

If I was in your shoes, as the machine had already been inspected by a technician, I would call Mi T M, and ask the warraty to be validated. There is 7 years warranty on Mi T M pressure washers.

Mi T M can be contacted calling toll free at 1-800-553-9053 or using the online form. Call them , telling that the machine had already be inspected by an authorized technician, and discuss terms for an eventual repair or replacement of the unit.

If my comment had been helpful, please do not forget to accept my solution.

Thanks.

G.

Won't Stay On

If it's brand new, the first thing I'd check is the oil level in the Honda motor. Most pressure washers are tested then the oil is drained out for shipment. Honda motors have an oil sensor in them that will shut the motor off if the oil level is low. When the motor is off, all the oil is in the bottom of the crankcase and the sensor 'thinks' all's OK. When you start it up and the oil is getting splashed around it will get low enough for the sensor to shut the motor down. Also make sure the gas is turned on at the carburator.

Dewalt DPD3800 pressure washer starts and runs fine. After 5-10 minutes of washing the engine quits. It will not start until it cools. The engine will start after a 10 minute cool down. It will run and...

I have the exact same pressure washer and have had the same issues with it. The cure for me was to simply run the washer with the gas cap loose. For some reason the fuel gets vacuume locked and stops flowing into the carb. The fuller the tank is it seems the shorter the time is between the time it starts and the time it shuts off. Or you might find a way to vent the cap. Hope this helps.

My John Deere 3000 pressure washer heats up after only a few minutes running and shuts off. This has happened numerous times.

Could be that the motor is low on oil, if the Honda engine runs low on oil it will shut down after running for a couple minutes. I would check that first. If you still have a problem next time before it shuts down take the gas cap off, it is possible that your gas cap is bad and is causing a vapor lock in the tank. Anything other then these items will indicate that something is wrong with the carb.

I started the motor and it ran about 30 seconds and it cut off . I then tried to pull start it and it would not pull easy it pulled hard til i could not pull it anymore.

I get this question a lot, and 9 times out of 10 the reason it because there is pressure in the pump. After the unit shut down did you pull the trigger to release all the pressure from the pump before attempting to restart? When these units have pressure in the pump they are near impossible to pull start.

Mi T M Model CM-1250-A/C pressure washer shuts off after 10 minutes use. Wait 5 minutes and restart by pressing On/off switch. Shuts off again in 10 minutes. Works fine while on. Thoughts on problem?

I have one of these machines and it is VERY sensitive to line voltage. Be sure not to use an extension cord or the CM1250 will shut down. If you do use an extension cord use a very heavy one. The unit uses very close to the capacity of a 15A circuit. Good luck.

I need instructions on replaceing the motor coupler on kenmore washer series 80 mod 110-24822200 typ 111

First you'll need to unplug the unit; after which I'd shut down the water supply and remove these. If against a wall you'll need to move the washer 3-4 feet from it to allow you to tip the washer back. No reason to lay it all the way down just on a heavy angle so you can access the under belly (be certain it will not come back down on you) I expect there is a noise shield you'll have to pull from its tabs. After which you should have a clear view of the motor and see where the remains of your older worn coupling are. I believe on that unit you'll unplug the motor (look for an electrical connection) then there should be two (2) pieces of metal that act like heavy snaps holding the motor in place, using a screw driver or such "un-snap" these pieces (be careful as once there loose the motor is too) this will allow you to drop the motor and gain full access to the coupling. This job should take @ 30 -45 minutes, take your time, keep it clean, keep it safe and in doing so you'll have saved you some good money.
I hope this may have helped,
Tom

CA error code on Calypso Washer

CA Cl Average current limit Or Instantaneous current limit If a status signal comes back from the motor controller that a current limit has been breached, the unit will return to standby mode and display either CA for average current limit trip or Cl for instantaneous current limit trip. Average current trip occurs if there is a 2 second average of current draw greater than 5.55 amps at the motor windings. Instantaneous current trip occurs if there is a spike of 26 amps instantly at the motor windings. This may signify problems with the drive motor, thermal protector, or motor controller. Over-loading the unit may cause this problem.

Meaning you had stuffed it full one time and then it was hard on the motor, you will have to change the drive motor most likely...
