Question about Haier Mechanical Air Conditioner HWF05XC7
My newly installed 5200 BTU unit will turn on with the fan running but no cool air comes out. Please help.
Hi, so what is happening is the compressor is not running. Being a new unit, I would say that you have a factory defective part that starts the cooling cycle of this unit that is not coming on when it calls for cooling. Just because it is new, does not mean you can't have a problem. I have seen on so many new units from commercial and residential roof top units that have never even been started, come from the factory miss - wired, faulty compressors, you just couldn't imagine what I have found in my 33 years working on these units!! Yes, all that is coming on is the blower motor on this unit. It could be many things causing this problem. Did you install it your self? If so, was the unit picked up by you or delivered and installed by a company? The reason I am asking this is, if the unit was layed on its side at any time during transporting to site, this will cause the compressor oil to drain from its crank case and mix with the refrigerant and cause compressor failure instantly. I am sure you no that when moving a refrigerator that you never lay it down that it must be upright? This is why. I don't know if this is the case. More then likely, it is a factory defect. Some of these units will have a built in time delay for the compressor not to start up for up to 3 to 5 minutes. But if you have been running it for longer then this, thats not the problem. Make sure you have the control set for cool and not fan only. This happens sometimes on accident. If it was installed by someone else, call them out to look it over and trouble shoot it, or install another one if it is new! I believe this might be a portable free standing unit? If so, and like I said before, if it was not upright at any time, this will ruin compressor. If it is a portable unit, take it back and exchange it. There are to many things that can cause this, and you would have to take unit apart to trouble - shoot these controls. Best to be done by a pro. Please, take it back for exchange. Please let me know what is up, keep me posted.
