I am replacing the stock radio in my 2001 dodge ram with a JVC deck. The JVC deck is smaller in size. What is the best way to install the new deck so that it is tight in place and does not vibrate while driving?

There are retro- fit adapter plates and housings that will match your new radio head with the original opening. Either go on line or go to your local electronics store that sells auto audio equipment and ask for such an adapter for your vehicle.

The capstan motor needs to be evaluated as to size and what is available- I have many motors in stock, Shaft size and spinning direction and mounting are the things to be concerned with. Getting a replacement from JVC is not likely to happen..

I have a 98 dodge ram 2500 I installed a aftermarket radio and have power but no sound please help

Sounds like you hooked the wires up wrong. Crutchfeild.com sells the direct plugs that go from the deck to the stock wiring harness. Its a good investment. But check your wires.

it is time to replace the radio and you can get wiring harness adapter over at best buy for about $20. you can also get the hardware at the same time. they are very easy to install with these parts even if you have never done this before. if you want a stock radio, i think you will find that it is 2-4 times the cost of a replacement radio.

Dodge radio starts then shuts off

Hi Davis,

I had the same problem with Dodge Grand Caravan as well. I have a 2001 GCV and these radios go out all the time, plus each speaker has separate amps which some speaker will stop working. You will need a new stereo, however the dealership will charge you over $350 for the same replacement. I chose to go to BestBuy and buy a new Stereo for around $100 which has iPod connections which is a plus.
Next problem!!! Since each speaker has its own amp, in order to get the new stereo to work, I had to install a relay by tapping into the passenger side kicker panel master amp power supply to bypass the chip. Best Buy guy will know what to do. I suggest install the stereo yourself with a kit and go back to install an amp bypass relay switch. Hope that helps.

Stock Stereos **** and Dodge make is difficult to go aftermarket.....Good Luck

you can buy really inexpensive stereos on ebay . yes decks are almost universal . you can use just about any. but you would have to go purchase a deck install kit averaging at about $15 . its pretty much a spacer, your stock deck is really big and most decks are short so you'll have a lot of room. thats why the install kit in needed

Wiring diagram for 01 isuzu rodeo stereo

A few weeks ago I bought a new JVC stereo for my 2001 Isuzu Rodeo. I was advised that using a wiring harness would be the best option to install it. I spent an entire Saturday going from one store to the next (Autozone, Advance Auto Parts, Radio Shack, etc.) looking for the wiring harness specific to an Isuzu Rodeo but, to no avail. I searched several online sites looking for one and finally found it at http://www.beachaudio.com/ . The cost of the harness was under $10 and with express shipping I only paid about $20. Since I ordered it on a Wednesday night with 3 day express shipping, I assumed that I'd receive it the following Monday given any processing time and the weekend but, it was delivered to me just two days later. My husband installed my new stereo that Sunday using the harness that I purchased and it works great! Hope this information helps.

Radio station presets

Look in the back of the boombox where the large D-cell batteries are. Beneath the large batteries there is a location for smaller AA size batteries. The AA size batteries are used to maintain the radio station pre-sets when the unit is unplugged. Check to see that these batteries are installed or if they need to be replaced with new ones.
