Use only Windows XP Service Pack2 from authorized technicians or from your dealer. Otherwise, your installation might not work well. Try another XP SP2 from another source and proceed with the Installation. Ask also the real Product key of the OS from the Provider.

I don't know who "Zylar" is, but I will try and help you with this problem anyway.

You are getting a message that you are a victim of software counterfeiting because your version of Windows XP Professional that is installed on your computer is not a valid, legal copy. Someone has installed boot leg software on your computer and it cannot be registerd as a legal copy for you. If you want to solve this problem, you need to buy a legal copy of windows xp and install it on your computer. When you removed the counterfeit copy the pop up messages will go away.

I can`t go in my mail,I want to remove you may be a victim of software counterfeiting

HI,

That message ("you may be a victim of software counterfeiting") is displayed when your Windows serial number is being used by someone else. If your copy of Windows is legitimate, try contacting Microsoft support.

Take care,
Alex

Windows counterfeiting

Every so often, Microsoft adds more list of known pirated keys to their database. With the recent SP3 release, they did just that. I have encountered other pcs that have passed Windows Genuine Advantage tests until this past year.

Most people asking about this are pirates... let me get that out of the way first. If you ARE in fact a victim of tampering, or fraud by the place you purchased your computer, you can get help from Microsoft. http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/ is the website to learn how to get it solved with Microsoft.

If you know your copy isn't exactly legal, then I'm sorry you are out of luck.

Victim of software counterfeiting

After installing your genuine copy of Microsoft Windows XP you are prompted with a “Your software is counterfeit” error message at startup. Even after visiting the www.microsoft.com/genuine/ site and validating, you still get the above message popping up after 2 or 3 boots. There is an easy solution to this and I would like you to follow the steps below to fix the issue.
1. C:\Windows\Downloaded Program Files
  • Within that folder, remove any files or folders associated with .WGA
2. Safe Mode
  • Reboot your computer and as soon as Windows logs off, start repeatively tapping the F8 Key on your keyboard.
  • As soon as you see the Windows Advanced Startup options select Safe Mode within Safe Mode get yourself into these folders…
  • C:\Windows\System32 (Rename wgatray.exe to wgatrayold.exe)
  • C:\Windows\System32\dllcache (Rename wgatray.exe to wgatrayold.exe)
Note: Dllcache is a hidden folder, to view hidden folders do the following, go to Start, Control Panel, Folder Options,
Select the view Tab and under the Hidden Files option, select Show hidden files and folders
3. Safe Mode Registry
  • Click on Start, Run and within the open dialog box type regedit and click OK.
  • Within the Registry Editor navigate your self to
    HKEY_Local_Machine\Software\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\Notify\WGALOGON
  • Right Click and Export the WGALOGON Folder (this should be saved onto your machine for backup purposes)
  • After Exporting the folder, DELETE the WGALOGON folder
  • After deleting close all applications and Restart your machine back to Normal Mode
After being prompt of a successful validation, Restart your Machine.
