Question about Dryers

Frigidaire Gallery Dryer Needs Two Cycles to Dry Clothes

I have the matching Frigidaire Gallery washer/dryer that can stack, purchased in 1998. It has been in two locations, both stacked and unstacked, and once with a new, very short dryer vent. It has never dried the load on the first 60 minutes cycle, no matter what option I choose. I always have to dry it another 30-60 minutes. This is for full or semi-full loads, and since the units match, I figured the dryer should be able to handle whatever the washer can. It heats and seems to run properly, but it just doesn't do it in a single cycle, which is frustrating and time consuming. Any thoughts?

Sorry, but I explained that the unit had been moved to a new location with a new, very short vent. It was properly installed, with the problem I describe in mind. It had nothing to do with ventilation, because the problem continued.

A dryer needs to exhaust properly in order to dry no matter where it's situated. Insure that the venting is not crushed at the back and that it has a good strong air flow outside

A dryer dries clothes by 3 methods. The amount of heat, good air flow, and the ability of the clothes to tumble properly(freely). You are right in that the dryer should be able to handle the same load you put in the washer and since you also stated that it has good air flow to the outside then lets examine the heat. Heat depends on the amount of electricity. If the dryer operates on 240v then 60mins should be sufficient but if it is 120v then the amount of heat produces may not be enough. Lets suppose that the dryer is getting sufficient voltage, the problem then might be burnt wiring (usually at the element). or even a broken element. Sometimes an elements coils maybe broken but is touching the housing and still producing a small amount of heat, I would suggest calling in a tech to investigate the problem further.

I want to change the door around to match the

Unfortunately, only some model Dryer doors are able to be changed, not the washer doors. You can find out the Model of your dryer and I can let you know if indeed you dryer door swing can be changed or not. The other solution is to stack the set to not have the doors impede loading and unloading if your models have a stacking kit available for them. I hope this helps! Good luck!

Hello, my frigidaire dryer-washer is not drying...it could be running for several hours but it doesn't dry

if the clothes are not getting warm at all, heater element needs to be replaced. if they are getting warm, you need to check filter, exhaust tube and out side outlet for blockage

Sounds like it could either be a bad solenoid in the fill valve or a bad pressure switch...both issues are easily repairable.
