Question about Logitech QuickCam Communicate STX Personal Web Camera

1 Answer

No Sound Hi my name is Shane and I purchased a set of behind the head headphones, by Logitech. When I plugged them into my Gateway laptop, I had no sound. I am not computer savvy and I need help with this situation. I would appreciate any advice you could give me. Thank you.

Hi, thank you for responding to my question so promptly. My fiance instructed me on how to use the headphones, they actually work better for him due to his deeper voice I am guessing.

Is the headphone plug in the GREEN jack on your sound card?
Then go to the Control Panel and click on SOUNDS and then AUDIO. Make sure that your HEADPHONE is selected. Then click OK and it should work.
Hope this helps. Bud

When i put head phone in my laptop sound is coming from both sides , outside and also from headphone, how when inserting head phone sound should come from only headphone

On your audio device setting/configuration.Check to see if your headphones are set to be used as the 'default communication device" instead of the integrated sound, or if both devices are set to default. Choose the "headphones" as the default device so that windows will use them only when they are plugged in.

realtech hd is your sound device. go into windows control panel and access the sound settings then navigate to voice settings click the volume button, your mic might be muted. also if you want the headphones to work plug them into the plug that your speakers are using (side-note: mics and head phones never need something installed to work as long as your sound device works and your definitely does work, only when the mic is a special interface like USB do you need to install software and/or drivers)

My Gateway laptop says my sound device is working properly, but the sound only works if headphones or speakers are plugged into the jack. how do i fix this?

It sound like your headphone jack is the default sound device. Go to control panel > sounds > look at the devices listed. Click on the speakers that have a device connected to them. You may have two selections for speakers, but one may be tied to a sound device and the other to headphones. Highlight the sound device and click on make this device the default sound device and hit apply.

My left speaker on my gateway ML3706 laptop just stoped working

If you get sound from both sides of the headphones when you plug it into the same jack the speakers normally plug into all you need to do is replace the speakers. If you mean you plug the headphones into the cd drive that's nothing special. You could have a bad sound card, bad connection in the jack, or bad speakers.

turns out, you can just plug into the headphones plug and just restart the program you want to listen to and the music blasted through the speakers. worked liked a charm.
