I believe the fix is to disconnect power cord for an hour or so.
This is truly maddening... it's a bug in the design of their power supply.  It's happened to me three times in the past few months.
The first time it happened, I haplessly stumbled onto the solution wisdos mentioned (unplugging it for a while) without realizing it.  I thought it just started working for no apparent reason.
The second time I tried all sorts of tricks (not remembering the fact that I'd disconnected the power for a period), spoke with Canon support several times and finally had to agree to have them send me a replacement printer.
I'll skip the part about not being able to get the old printer's print head and inks out to put in the new one because it wouldn't budge without the power being on.
Now, with second printer and a five-second power failure, the same deal... won't turn on.  This time I pulled the power cord from the printer and let it sit for a few hours.  Plugged it back in and it came on.
The maddening thing is that Canon support didn't want to escalate this to someone who might understand the power supply and diagnose the problem properly... their solution was to send out a new printer.  What a waste of time, money, and effort.

The same thing happened to my mx850. I tried everything but nothing worked. In frustration, I unplugged the printer. When I plugged it in the next morning and pushed the start button it came to life and is working fine. Maybe it just needed a rest? Hope this works for you.

B200

Hi there!
If you're getting the error code B200 when you try to print on your Canon PIXMA MX850, there is nothing you can do except to have it repaired. This error code indicates a Voltage High Error of the Canon printer. If the printer is still under warranty, please contact Canon for further assistance.

Just want to change them How do you get it to

Make sure the printer is powered on, then open the cover. If the cartridges don't move to the center within 30 seconds or so, the printer may need service.

My MP600 is not turning on after my home had a power outtage. The power in my home is now on and everything else turns on except my MP600 printer. What doo i need to do to turn it back on?

Unplug the power cord for a couple minutes and when you power on again, hold the power button for a few seconds until you hear a beep. There may have been a surge with the outage that has hurt the internal power supply requiring a shop repair if the power doesn't return.

Power went off and on and now I can't get the MX850 to start.

If you can move the printhead to the center, try removing the inks and the printhead. Try to turn on with printhead removed, if power comes on you need a new printhead, if it doesn't come on the power supply or main logic board is bad.

Printer wont turn on we have a pixma mx850 after a power surge it wont power up

This has happened a couple of times to me and usually it's one of two or three causes.

1. If you have a fused plug (as we have in the UK) check the fuse in your plug and try a different lead

2. If you're still under warranty I would definitely recommend getting it warranty serviced!

3. If not under warranty and you're uncomfortable with taking the unit apart I'd recommend contacting a local repair center.

4. If 2 & 3 don't apply the one thing I've found to work is to remove and disconnect the internal power pack module from the printer internal wiring and then reconnect it again. This seems to reset a breaker in the power pack (sometimes) and allow you to re-use the printer.

The problem with 3. is that it requires a service manual to work out how the module can be released and you would need to be confident in taking the case apart in some areas to get to the release. At present I haven't been able to locate the manual for the MX850 but the MP830 may be similar enough to handle the job.

Anyway, this fix has saved three out of four Canon printers for me and the MX850 being as expensive as it is it may well be worth the attempt.

Hope that helps.

My Cannon Mx850 Printer has an error code of 6A00 what should I do?

I had the same problem after a paper jam. I removed all the paper and still had a same error. I read around the internet and ran into other Canon printers with similar problems. The error is caused by the print clean mechanism getting stuck. The suggested solution for other Canon printers also worked allowing me to fix my printer. First thing I did was turn off my printer. Second is to open the top cover allowing me access to the print cartridge area. With the power off, you can pull the printer cartridge carridge from the right of the printer to the left. Once you do that, look into the area in the right where the print carridge was and you will see two sponges in the bottom of the printer. Behind them to the left is a little mechanism that moves over the to clean them, I gently gave it a pull and it moved a little forward. I closed the printer and turned it back on. Error went away and it's working fine again.

Hope this helps!
