Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

How to Backup and restore the registry

In case you go and modify the registry manually and you want to back it up in case something goes wrong and you want to restore it, this is perfect for you.

Backup:

1.) Go into the start menu and click "Run".
2.) Type "cmd" and click OK
3.) type in the window "copy c:\windows\system.dat c:\windows\system.000" and press enter.
4.) Once Complete type "copy :\windows\user.dat c:\windows\user.000" and press enter.

You have now created a backup of the registry.

Restore:

1.) Go into the run menu again and type cmd.
2.) Type in the 2 commands that was shown in the backup section except in each command swap the twon directores.
(e.g.) "copy c:\windows\system.dat c:\windows\system.000" will become "copy c:\windows\system.000 c:\windows\system.dat"

Whatever was backed up when you created the backup file will be restored to the windows registry.

How do I change the printing settings from envelope to paper? I have a Lexmark x642e.

I don't have one right in front of me but it goes like this. Press the menu button. Information menu should be in the display..select it...arrow down to paper menu...select..arrow thru till you see paper type...select...scroll thru/arrow till you see the tray or feeder that you want to change..select..then it will give your paper type selections where you can change the setting. Now like I said..I'm not right in front of the printer. I think the paper menu is a sub menu under the information menu...if not it is its own menu below the information menu. Either way....scroll/arrow around a bit and you'll fiind it.
Hope this helps!

Deleted the "ds_menu.dat" how can i get it back

When you mean the DS_MENU.DAT, do you mean the menu on your R4? You can get it back, and I have links, but unfortunately that file has not been updated since April 2008. Here is the link however: http://r4ds.cn/download/118/English-1.18.rar

Insalling m3 resl deal but cant find DS MENU .dat

apparently m3 dont do upgrades now but this might help http://www.m3-forums.net/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=312
basically it converts the r4 ds menu.dat to work on m3 simply (may work for m3 real) so now all you have to do is go to r4 download site and download latest version. 1.18 from here http://www.r4dscart.com/r4-software.html (select the english update) then patch ur dat file replace it back to where you took it from before patching and then copy all 4 files ( _system_ moonshi _ds_menu.dat _ds_mshl.nds) into the root of micro sd card. advise you to copy any files/games you have on your mem card then copy the games over to your newly installed firmware. oh by the way in the link i provided on how2 patch the ds_menu.dat it might be bit vague on where you put the ds_menu.dat file to patch it, all you do is drag and drop it into the PATCH app thats inside the "r4 to m3 patcher" folder. post a reply to let me know how you got on

Menu.dat issue

the _DS_MENU.DAT could not be found bcuz you guys probably deleted it or edited it accidentally. if you edited it, put it back to its normal self right away. for example, it was _DS_MENU.DAT.
if you edit it to look like, DS Menu.Dat , your R4 wont work. so fix it to its original self.

Converting .DAT files to DVD Files

I guess that this file is from a VCD? If you just burn that file onto a CD as a data CD it should play in your DVD player. The AVSEQ01.dat file is already a (S)VCD file. It is in MPEG format and should be playable on a DVD player as is. Alternatively you can import the file you want to burn into nero vision. Once it is imported then choose to export the file as an MPEG file or burn direct to DVD. Please update the question & let us know if the information given was useful to you - Good Luck!
