Question about Canon LaserBase MF5750 All-In-One Printer

Canon Laserbase MF5750 Multifunction

My screen display shows "DOWNLOAD STANDBY" when connected to power without the USB cable connected and when the USB is connected "DOWNLOAD CONNECTED" I have been in contact with Canon HELPDESK who could not help just elevated the problem to level 2 which means I still have to wait. I have tried turning power off for long periods (hours) also removing and re-installing software. None of the control panel functions work, it is if the machine is dead except for the screen display. The machine is 15 months old and I am still on the original toner, so not excessively used, a few times each day.

    SAME THING! machine worked fine until one day it wouldn't initialize after restarting, it seems to be in some kind of sleep mode. Any help appreciated. I tried the downloading new drivers but it didn't work

    I have the MF6560PL and it worked fine until it came up with "download Standby" one day and will not initialize when switched on and off, basically its dead and seems to be in some kind of sleep mode. There is no info on the Canon website on this machine under FAQs. it is driving me insane! I bought this machine just over a year ago and it has been a complete waste of money. If Canon cannot fix theri machines then who can? I will never buy another printer from Canon after this.

    My husband & I have this problem with the Canon ImageClass MF6550.The machine is at our vacation home. The last time we used it was in Sept. 2008, and it worked fine. We drove back to our permanent home in Sept. and haven't been here at our vaca home since then. Today we came to our vaca house for Thanksgiving and now the machine's LED display says "DOWNLOAD STANDBY" when you turn it on. It won't print, and when you press the menu buttons, nothing happens.

    I took great care to make sure the machine was unplugged before we departed from our vacation house in Sept., so there is no chance that the machine was damaged by a power fluctuation while we were away

    Exact same problem. It appeared to have started when we lost power briefly. The canon help desk said if you can not get "download standy" to not show up in the menu then nothing else would fix it. the firmware update they suggested would not take. I also tried leaving it off for 24 hrs, then 48 then 5 days... I believe it is hosed. Better luck to others.

    Same as others and I have already downloaded the MF software as suggested but it is still dead. This machine has caused many ours of frustration and money so far. Dear Canon, this is not good. Please help your customers get their machines working, its doing your business damage to see these comments about a printer which could probably be so easily fixed.

Download the Canon MF Update Tool from the Canon Homepage.
Connect your Canon Laserbase MF5700 series to your PC and flash the Firmware.

Worked at my Canon Laserbase MF5750.
Had the same problem like you.

Something u can try

press and hold on/off "button" and power up machine while still holding button for a few seconds.
if that don't work try the "clear" button the the same way.

When performing the "press and hold on/off button and power up" (i.e., plug in power cord) previously described , leave the phone line unplugged.

MFC_5840CN Will not print, not showing


Typically, a Brother machine stops printing, because the connection between the computer and the Brother machine is lost. There are multiple reasons for a lost connection.
  1. The Brother print driver is Offline.

  2. The Brother printer driver is not set as the default printer driver.

  3. The computer, not the monitor, connected to the Brother machine is set to go into sleep or standby mode. When the computer goes into sleep or standby mode, the connection between the computer and the Brother machine is lost and needs to be re-established.
Follow the steps below in order to re-establish the connection between the Brother machine and the computer:
  1. Verify that the Brother machine is connected with a USB cable and is not on a network.

  2. Verify the power cord and USB cable are securely connected. If the USB cable is loose on either end, disconnect and reconnect the cable securely. Test the machine by trying to print. If the machine does not print, go to STEP3.

  3. Cycle the power of the Brother machine by unplugging the power cord from power outlet, wait approximately one minute and plug back in. Once the Brother machine displays the date and time after plugging it back in, test the machine by trying to print. If the machine does not print, to Step 4.

  4. Reboot the computer connect to the Brother machine and then try to print again.

E indicates an Error condition.

1.Without turning off the product, disconnect the USB cable from the rear of the product.

NOTE:The USB cable connects to the port on the rear of the product. The port is labeled with the USB icon ( ). If your printer has a network or wireless connection, ignore this step.

2.Remove the cartridges from the product.

3.Wait until a message to insert the cartridges displays. If you do not see a message within a few minutes, skip to the next step.

NOTE:If your printer does not have a display, wait until the cartridge lights blink. If the cartridge lights do not blink within a few minutes, skip to the next step.

4.Disconnect the power cord from the back of the product.

5.Wait 60 seconds.

6.Reconnect the power cord. If the product does not automatically turn on, press the Power button ( ).

7.Reinsert the cartridges, and then close any open doors on the product.

8.If you receive a prompt to print a calibration page, do so.

9.If you disconnected the USB cable, reconnect it to the rear of the product.

10. Try printing again.

this is displayed when the system software is crashed. To repair it you need to upload new software or change the dc controller pcb.

I cannot download pictures from my LG Neon gt365 to my computer. What do I need to do? Do I need a USB? Do I need a micro SD? If so, what kind do I need? any help would be great!


You should be able to connect it using a usb cable that will need to be bought separately and a micro SD card installed in the phone. You should be able to buy any micro SD card up to 4GB. Also, if you buy a card with an SD adapter that will allow you to connect the SD card (with a memory card reader) to your computer without the additional usb cable. Transferring Music from the Digital Music Service 1. Using your computer, open your preferred PC music management client. 2. Download the selected song to your library. 3. Make sure the microSD™ card is inserted properly into the handset. 4. Use the USB adapter cable to connect the handset to the PC. When you try to connect handset on your PC, the handset displays "Call and Message functions will not be available while connected to USB". 5. Once the USB connection has been established, the handset displays "To avoid data corruption always carry out safe removal hardware on PC after use." and the computer screen then shows the LG NEON device. If the detection does not occur, skip to Changing USB Connection Settings section on page 63. 6. Follow the instruction in the program to transfer music to your handset. n Note If you have a USB hub, connect the handset directly to your computer rather than through the hub. Printing double-sided when paper jammed badly. Every piece of paper has been removed, even the roller dismantled but screen still showing paper jam. The machine is a LaserBase MF5700.


Have you cycled the power, by unplugging the device for at least 10 seconds?
Have you uninstalled or updated the driver to the latest version?

I am getting a very precise, dark line down the middle of anything scanned - fax or feeder-copies. Cleaned all available areas & changed toner cartridge without success.


Hi,
if you have already cleaned all the areas in scanner, then the reason should be an error in your scanner interface cable. This is the flat, grey cable which is connected to scanner lamp. Try to disconnect it and connect it again. When you use your Canon just for printing, there should be no dark lines.
Also maybe you scanner lamp has a problem. These things you can't repair.
