Question about Frigidaire Refrigerators

1 Answer

Water collecting at the bottom of the freezer. Seems to be comming from vent that protects the coils. I think I have a blockage some where. It's a side by side Frigidaire model FRS24WNGWO with an ice maker.

Water collecting in the bottom of the freezer is usually caused form a condensate drain blockage. Remove the back panel and there should be no ice around the drain. if there is pour hot water in and around the drain to clear it and flush it out. This should get things fixed.

My freezer is collecting water in the bottom just below coils how do i repair

Good Afternoon Friend,

I understand that your Frigidaire refrigerator, model# FRS6R4EQ4 is collecting water in the bottom of the freezer, below the coils. I also see that you think the drain is clogged. I suggest contacting your local authorized technician for further assistance. They will be able to diagnose your appliance and determine why the water is collecting. Hope this is helpful.

Hi,

The defrost drain is located just under the cooling coils in the back of the freezer. You will need to unload the food and remove the shelves from the freezer. Take the back panel off from inside the freezer and you will see a hole just below the coils. Flush it with hot water using a turkey baster or small hose. See the link below for more details.

FREEZER AT BOTTOM OF REF. COLLECTS ABOUT ONE INCH OF ICE. THAN CANT OPEN BOTTOM DOOR SEEMS TO BE LEAKING DROPLETS OF WATER FROM REF. AT TOP WHAT COULD BE WRONG?

Defrost condensate line behind the rear panel is clogged up. The watter is flooding over the condensate collection tray and and through the cabinet. Click below.
HOW TO FIX A LEAKING REFRIGERATOR OR FREEZER

There are many reasons for this happening for example water leaking from a water supply line for the dispenser or ice maker, a crack in the defrost pan, water leaking inside and draining through the refrigerator cabinet, but most are caused by a defrost drain line blockage. Below is a link that may be helpful so try to take it all in and use the parts that most refer to your specific problem, Thanks Sea Breeze

Refridge leaking water inside it...

The condensate drain begins inside the freezer compartment behind the back panel and at the bottom of the evaporator coils. Every time the refrigerator defrost (about 3 times a day) the water needs to flow out the bottom of that pan in the freezer and into a plastic drain pipe to the bottom of the refrigerator into a pan on top of the compressor or side of compressor. Sometimes the drain is blocked inside freezer and there is a buildup of ice. But sometimes it is blocked near the opening that leads out of the fresh food compartment and then down to compressor tray/pan. If the blockage is near that exit then you will see a trail of water running down the back of the fresh food compartment and settle in bottom. The only solution is to slowly and carefully remove the drain pipe from the back and inside of refrigerator and clean it out. Let me know how you are doing on this and I will be here to help,Thanks Sea Breeze

Freezer ice

If the freezer is on top then empty out the freezer and remove the bottom and back liner of the freezer compartment usually phillips screws. In the back you will see the freezer coils along with a defrost element. Below these two items u will see a drip tray that collects water from the coils on defrost cycle, in the center of the pan will be a drain hole that connects to a hose that leads to a pan under the refrigerator.Normally the water is collected there and evaporated. The hole in the tray in the freezer is clogged. Thaw it and clean it until you can pour water in it and it goes to the pan down below. please rate me
