I have an old mac laptop running 10.4 os, have just purchased a new canon mp520, loaded the drivers and when i print, it send to the printer says on the small screen it is processing and then just stops and nothing. Has anyone got any ideas as to what is causing this. The printer is connected via usb from the computer to the printer using the usual print cable. Thanks.

Thank you so much for your suggestions, I have tried both drivers and unloaded and reloaded them and still have had no success. When i print to the printer, the printer on the screen says it is processing and then it just disappears and nothing prints. I have never had any problems loading drivers and being able to print straight away.

You most likely have installed the wrong drivers, the drivers are incompatable with your operating system, get a driver to match your os

ok are you sure windows is detecting your printer, try pluging printer into another usb port, check device manager to see if any conflicts or red x's or so on your printer, because windows should automatically install the right drivers for you

What was your previous printer did it work on the powerbook. Have you tried repairing permissions and running software update recently.

Go menu Utilities launch disk utility highlight hard drive and repair permissions.
Next goto Apple menu top left corner run software update.

Have you selected the printer correctly go to help menu search select printer and follow instructions for changing default printer.

The above best result is totally wrong as he's talking about a PC not a Powerbook running OSX whoever voted is an idiot

Why can't I download a driver for the Canon PIXMA iP6220D printer? I have been using a Mac OS 10.5.8 previously, now I want to hook it up to a Mac OS 10.9.4

Canon told you there is no driver for the new OS that you have. What else do you want to hear? They are under no obligation to provide new , updated driver. Either you go back to prior OS or get a new printer. And if you are smart, it will not be a Canon!

Cannot find driver/software for my dusty Canon imageCLASS MF3240 on mac OS 10.7 Lion?

There is no driver for your printer to work with OSX. It was for Windows OS only. AND Apple does not support this particular model either.Link below list support printers by Apple OSX>

I have a cannon MP 160 printer/scanner. It does not work on a Mac

Uninstall all your drivers (and delete the preferences) and download the Mac drivers from this link. The drivers that came with your printer were developed before Snow Leopard came out.

Canon MP520 can print but not scan

I had the same problem. The all-in-one driver download doesn't include the stuff you need for the scanner. Go to this link (canon), click "OSX" on the dropdown list for what os you're using, then click "mp520sosxsd1391ej7.dmg" under "MP520 series Scanner Driver Ver. 13.9.1 (Mac OS X 10.2/10.3/10.4/10.5/10.6)." It doesn't take long to download and completely fixes the problem.

Problem with printing from Mac to Canon Pixma MP520

So far I can only see that this printer supports OX 10x4x -Not Leopard. If that´s the truth I don´t know -but in that case the printer sucks. Does any one know if Im right or wrong?
