How can i get my 97 model jeep cherokee to run with the guages working as well. fuel imobilizer problem.Have 2 computers,First one the car starts and runs fine but no gauges work and the original comp

Is the first one - the functioning one - also from a '97 Cherokee Sport 4.0? I think it may have its own problems, or it might be from a different vehicle - different year or model - and incompatible with your gauge head.

Need to tear apart autogage plastic tachometer to fix the needle

Remove the gauge pod from the dash, get a heat gun and slowly warm the edged of the plastic face to relax the adhesive that holds the face to the pod. Carefully remove the face and place it face down on a clean surface. Carefully put the needle back on and do the reverse of the face removal to get the adhesive so it will reattach.

your spedometer should be hooked up via cable off the front wheel. not through wiring but use your volt meter to ensure the wire coloring didnt change in the makes of bikes

Tach reads double of old one

look to the connection of the tach wire, see if its on the green wire of the coil, if it is, then clean the connection and see if that helps, if it still doesnt work properly you may have a faulty gauge

I would like to know if I can wire my autometer guages (electrical) into my instrument cluster with out causing damage. I own a 81 GMC C2500 pickup. Thanks steve sstratford@cogeco.ca

Hello,
If you are looking to install these gauges into your factory cluster it is possible as it is not a computer cluster. I would look into buying a professional cluster made for hotrods that is already done as there is alot of work to do to make the Autometer gauges fit nice and clean. There is a plastic cover over your factory gauge set and it will be dificult to get it cut out and set rite for the new gauge set. maybe if you built your own cluster unit you could use one of these Billet pieces as a template. Thats just a thought I have done this and It looks nice with a rose wood underlayment routered out to fit the gauges.

I hope this helps.
