Dead Tv Chassis Hyundai Model# 2115

Good All,
I have a dead Hyundai/(Insignia makes it I Think) Model# 2115 Tv.
Checked the 5v regulator which is dead on all pins. Traced back to the optoisolator looking for the 5v but the whole board is dead back to the optoisolator. Checked the fiter Cap which reads 166V which i think is normal. What should the voltage be on the optoisolator pins?
What and where should i check next?

Please advise!

Thanks

Vald

Dead pins of 5v regulator also means dead 9v regulator..these regulators get their inputs from the 12v terminal of the the flyback transformer..check pins 3,9 and 10 of FBT..filter cap reads 166v so pin 3 must be ok..if pins 9 and 10 fails then check HOT(horizontal output transistor)..trace back from its base to the horizontal drive transfomer and down the IC..

    i suggest you check HOT first..166v reading on filter cap suggests FBT is fine..trace back from its base to the horizontal drive transformer ,then check voltages around horizontal drive transistor especially teh base....it is the transistor whose collector is connected to the input side of the horizontal drive transformer..if not fine then detector IC is faulty..

I have a bush tv its got sound but no picture

Check and replace damaged component/s at its horizontal scan output section circuit. Check the LOT (Line Output Transformer) too for damage. Replace the horizontal scan output transistor. Check the input voltage to LOT. If the voltage is absent check the feeder resistor; if any. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Sony KDL-40U2000 will not turn on. No lights at all, totally dead.

I think the 5 volts missing is your problem---it should come from the standby power supply and ought to be there all the time.

Look to the source for that voltage and check to see if a dead short to ground on that line.

Tv won't turn on. replaced bad caps and after some testing it turned out that the power supply board wasn't giving the supposed voltages.

This problem is not easily to be solved.Tries to changes all the capacitors components even if u think is good around the bad capacitors surrounding area.After that,if u still have the same problems.This problem could be any high voltage components parts like transformers to ICS power regulator.Trying to fix this power supply board probably beyond your ability and u must also have the tv power supply board original schematic and electron scope too . .To measure those power transformers and ics power regulator output.Tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,EBay.com to buy a whole new refurbish tv power supply board for the replacement that is ur best bet.

When plugged in, the logo flashes white. Everything else is dead. Checked 5v, 12v, 24v outputs on power supply--only the 5v showed power.Power board looks good otherwise i.e.no bulging capacitors or burn...

Video all white and have sound or not.This causes and the problems it is the tv Tuner signal board is dead.That the board,where the incomming broadcasting signal cable plug into it.Tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a refurbish tv Tuner signal board for the replacement.This problems.I fix it many times,know exactly witch IC is dead.It is the Mosfat IC regulators power for the main Tuner board.This IC is surface mounted component and very sensitive to heat and static electricity.It take me a month to scope and troubleshooting to find that out,take me forever to even to order of the Mosfat IC and convince the manufacture even to be willing sell it to me under 5 pieces of Mosfat ICS even,if they even willing to sell it to me or anybody.They only sell in bulk like in the hundred at a time.

Insignia ns-lcd47hd09 i check voltages again solid 5v stand by and 5v on but 12v and 24v are not holding raise to 36v then OL disconnected every thing still same problem any suggestions about cause thanx.

It means the feedback circuits for regulating the 12/24vdc is not working, use 12v car bulb (1157) to load down the 12vdc supply and two 1157 is series to load down the 24vdc power supply and see it if still rises up, the stange thing is that you said it rises to 36vdc (12 + 24 = 36), is it being measure correctly?

Daytek DT-3220 power problem

I have just fixed the power problem on my Daytek 3220. It looks like the Bentek BP-200AD power supply is used in other cheap brand TV's besides this Daytek : Hyundai HLT 3280, Jwin JV-DTV3212.

At first, my TV would just lose the backlight, while the video and sound would still work fine. Power cycling the tv would correct the issue, but would repeat the problem after shorter periods of time.
More recently, I've started losing the video and audio, shortly after backlight.

I have checked all the caps on the outputs and they all tested ok, using capacity and ESR meter (surprisingly enough) and no bulging either.

This power supply outputs 3 voltages : 5V, 12V and 24V, with a stand-by control pin on the 5V connector (0V for TV on and 5v for tv off).
I have got the readings after the power died:
5v out= 5v--ok
12vout=0.72v not ok
24vout=0.0v not ok

One of the transformers was squealing quite annoying while tv worked, but started modulating the squeal a couple of seconds before power died.

The culprit : one small electrolytic capacitor marked C19 on both sides of the board, with a value of 47uF/35v. I have replaced it a 56uF/50v and the TV started working as new (and of course no more squealing either).

Use a good quality cap when replacing C19. A 50v rated one would be a better choice than the original 35v and make sure it is also rated for 105 degrees Celsius, since it is very close to one of the heatsinks.

As always the DISCLAIMER: take all the precautions to avoid electrocution. Disconnect the TV from power, allow a few minutes for the big 400Volt capacitors to discharge completely, before handling and working on the power supply.

No Power RCA chassis CTC187CL

Find Capacitor C4127, this is a startup cap and will fail. Then check C4709, C4105[this one almost always goes bad] and C4404. These are good starting points. You will have to resolder the Tuner as it will coorupt your eeprom and can create a dead set. And inspect the pins a Regulater T4101 I beleive, for busted grounds. If this will not start the set you will need a new eeprom or the T4101 Regulator. The regulatore rarely goes bad in this TV!

ok! make sure ur IC regulator is good. like the 7805 or 7812 or 7809 u make sure that the following ICs are correct in voltage! 7805 is for 5V. 7812 is for 12V. 7809 is for 9V MAKE SURE THAT IS EXACTLY IN VOLTAGE!
