Question about Fuji FinePix V10 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Camera took a slight bang, while in protective bag, etc. No visible damage - nothing cracked or broken off - but camera wont turn on? Have tried new batteries, external power source etc, it was a gift, and I'm getting fustrated with it! Can anyone advise, please?

Either your camera got damaged INSIDE. when you dropped it, small and fine mechanics inside the device might have been damaged. Ask the person who gave that to you what store he/she bought it, then take it there, and get it a look. The technician could help you!

White line down the center of my camera screen but it does not effect the picture taken

Sounds like the screen itself is slightly damaged. This can happen when you subject it to pressure (i.e. pushing it with a finger, or putting it in a bag without a case etc) it can also happen do to manufacturing errors or aging. Nothing particularly worrying if you don't mind the white line on the screen as (like you say) the photo remains unchanged.

However, if it is still in warranty, you may be able to get a replacement or atleast get your current one repaired.

Thanks

I've got some visible(I see it on the pictures and on the digital display) dust (tiny hairs etc) on my lens (actually inside) so it seems I can't get rid of it without taking my cam apart. The dust is then...

If this is a fixed lens camera (you didn't give a model) I'd suggest strongly for you not to attempt to take it apart. Hopefully what you are experiencing is dirt on the outside of the lens. If so turn on the camera huff (breath) on the lens to create a slight amount of moisture and then use a lens cleaning tissue to gently clean the lens.

If as you say this dirt is on the inside then I would suggest getting it cleaned by a camera repair facility. Problem there is a lot of these point and shoot cameras cost more to clean and fix then it does to just go get another one.

Next thing if the inside is dirty they you must have a lot of lint in your pockets or you have been using this camera in a dusty environment. For carrying it would be best in an actual camera case rather then an open pocket and for dusty condition I've used shallow water camera bags and I've also used ZipLock bags while photographing a waterfall.

Camcorder water damaged.

try this :
This works on most mini electronic devices like cellular phones and degital cameras etc .

it sounds crazy .

Remove the back (or Cover ) of the phone( or Camera ), battery, and SIM if your phone ( or Device ) uses one , DIRECTLY
.

Then, with a q-tip (or something similar), dab the connection points (shiny, goldish) on the battery, SIM, and phone. This should aid in drying.

Finally, place all contents in a bag of uncooked rice (separately, do not put back together just yet). it sounds crazy , but it draws the moisture out.

It normally is working after just 7-8 hours, but I would wait 12 hours or even 24 hours before attempting to use (just to be sure).

beware the water damage, despite being dry now, will void any warranties. Also, the phone's hardware is now weakened and if you drop it, the green mother board and circuitry could shatter - so be more careful.

This does work on electronic devices aside from phones as well. Simply tailor it to your device. If you do not have a SIM (Verizon phones, cameras, all others), remove only the battery. If you have an iPhone/iPod or GPS and cannot remove the battery, simply make sure it is all the way off, then put it in the rice bag. All electronic devices react the same to the rice trick.

I have a Nikon S210 for only 2 months and the screen has cracked it has not been dropped in fact i don't know how it happened took some photos put it in case then took out to take more to find it craked. ...

You would have to call Nikon and see what the manufactorer warranty is. Most likely you can send it to them for repair or replacement. Most likely it might cost you some $. You might want to research what the cost is and then make a decision on if its worth it to keep the camera or buy a different one.
