Question about Supersonic SC-299TDVD

Dark Screen I just bought this player tonight and when I plugged it in (and put in a dvd), the screen stayed too dark to make out anything. I'm getting great sound, but a very, very dark picture. When I press setup or any other button, the screen is too dark for me to see if it's doing anything.

    When i play my dvd player there was no image at my screen but the sound is ok its just the graphics are off.. is there any solution or advice?

    Well, I bought it at a live auction so sales are final but I don't think they probably checked it out because they're real good about stating when things have problems and such. I'm pretty handy with fixing things, is it possible for me to remove the back plate and replace the bulb?

Sounds like a faulty Backlight.. If you just bought this take it back and get it replaced, Check if the Manufacturer's warranty is still valid. if this was bought second hand (out of warranty) I would take it back. as it is unlikely that the prev owner did not know of this issue.

    it might not be the lamp itself, there may also an inverter (power transformer). also The lamp may not be replaceable..



    It may still be within warranty, so that may be worth a punt.

When i plug my AV coil in my philips TV the screen goes dark
If the DVD player is playing and you have the Scart lead plugged in, check what the playback system is, Your TV is probably Composite Video and the DVD player may be set to RGB for example.

Flip up screen won,t illuminate. dark
if the screen needs to be wired to the dash light switch it will not change unless the lights are on, if the wire is disconnected it is possible to bypass it making the screen stay bright.
although it would seem more likely that the brightness could be adjusted on the unit settings or by a button on the unit itself

Screen will not stay bright
That's the battery saver feature of that Philips portable. If you use an A/C power adapter, the light will stay bright.

RCA DRC6338 screen is dark
There can be dead lamp or invertor. Give it for some special guy who can fix this.

Battery not charging screen blank n when power on
check the connectivity of the charger using a multimeter. if there is anything wrong in it, you might have to open up and replace the wire in the charger. if the connectivity in the charger has no problem, then try replacing your batteries

Screen is blank
Check to see if the little button that the screen closes down on (which turns off the screen and only the screen) is stuck, or jammed under the little hole that it comes up.  This button is about the size of a pin on most DVD Players, and is located very close to the screen on either side.
