I think the virus is still on your system, coz you format already your drive then you still this error, this time you clean your registry using a registry cleaner or noob killerz, here is the site to download the noob killer http:\\leerz25.sitesled.com

Cannot format portable hdd

Step 1:
When you connect an external hard drive or USB flash drive to your PC computer, the drive should appear in the "Computer" window. However, if the data on the drive is corrupted, you may receive an error saying that the disk is not accessible. In order to get the removable disk working again, you will need to boot up your computer using the Windows installation disk and then format the corrupted drive.
Connect the removable disk to your computer. Insert the Windows installation disk into your optical drive and reboot the system. Press any key on the keyboard when you see the prompt asking if you want to boot to the CD. Press "Next" and then click on the "I accept the license terms" button. Click "Custom" when the program asks you what type of installation you want to perform. Click on the "Drive options (advanced)" button. The next window will display a list of all the hard drives connected to your computer. The removable disk will appear, even if its data is inaccessible. Highlight the removable disk that you want to format and then choose the "NTFS" option. Click "OK" to clear the data and format the hard drive.

My memory card does not format and has msdc error.how can i format it in windows xp because when i try to it brings windows can not format the disc.

Hi ,JHONPIX

If your computer affected by virus, then your memory card will not show in the pc .so you will install it to another pc,and format it .Flash drive can not recocknize, becayse there are some reason .

  • VIrus affected
  • Sometimes when a flash memory stick or USB external hard drive fails because it was not removed from the USB port properly. If the device is removed by just pulling it out of the USB port, it can cause the flash device to fail, you must click on the Safely Remove Hardware icon on the Task Bar and select the device you wish to remove and only do so when instructed to do so.

When the flash memory USB hard drive device appears to malfunction it may be possible to restore it by reformatting it. Insert the flash or USB hard drive into the USB port then Click on Control Panel - Administrative Tools - Computer Management - Disk Management.
Then right click on Disk 1 removable drive and click Format. After the flash drive has been formatted then it will indicate that it is Healthy.

If this doesn't work then it is faulty.

My notebook is working very slow. i want to format it. how should i do it?

Well, usually, formatting notebooks and/or computers is the last resort. Try to Defragment your hard disk drives, uninstall unnecessary programs, or upgrading memory to speed your notebook.
To defragment a hard disk drive, do this (For windows 7): 1. Click on the Windows button on the lower left of your screen, then click Computer. 2. A window will open up displaying your local hard disk drives (For example, Local Disk C:) 3. Right click on the disk drive that you want to defragment (Ex. Local disk C:) then click Properties 4. A new window will pop-up, go to Tools tab and under the Defragmentation, click Defragment Now (Defragmenting might take a while depending on the number of files and the size of the hard disk drive. 5. You can do the same steps for the other disk partitions (Local Disk D:, etc)
To uninstall programs (Windows 7) 1. Click Windows button on the lower left of your screen, then click Control Panel 2. A new window will open, look for the Programs part, then click the "Uninstall a program" link. 3. This will take you to the programs list with installed programs in your notebook/computer. 4. Select the programs that you want to remove/uninstall, then click Uninstall.
To upgrade physical memory/RAM (random access memory) 1. Please contact your manufacturer. Memory will be dependent on what kind of notebook model that you have.
If the above suggestions doesn't make your notebook a bit faster, then you might want to backup all your files to another media (like external hard drive, or burn it into DVD's). It would be the right time to format your notebook.
1. You should contact your notebook manufacturer about notebook formatting.

Unfortunately, this type of virus is actually a virus that is a result of the company that actually has you going to the website to install the anti-virus software, nice huh?
So, there is really only one 100% foolproof way of eliminating this virus and that is by formatting your Hard Drive and reinstalling windows. Now, if you have extremely valuabe information on that drive that you can't afford to lose, then you can perform a small trick. You can install a new Hard Drive in the #1 position of the Seriel Cable or PCMI Position #1 if an older PC. If you are not familiar with the inside of your PC, you'll need to take your PC to a local PC Repair shop and ask them to install a new Hard Drive and OS and pull the data off the old hard drive and have it copied over to the new Hard Drive. Sometimes this may not be possible, but it can't hurt to try. Then the infected drive can be formatted and you'll have 2 drives in your PC, your old one being just a great back up spare drive.
If you don't have such valuable data on the drive, then the process is much simpler. Just reinstall your Windows OS (Windows 7, Vista, XP) whatever version of Windows Software you have. You will need the original Windows OS installation disk if it is an OEM version of Windows, or go and purchase a Full version of Windows and install from the CD.
When you go to install Windows, you will be asked if you wish to format disk prior to installing, make sure you select yes. Then you drive will be formatted, automatically removing the virus, then reinstalling windows on newly formatted Hard Disk.

Hope that helps

Windows 2000mag-glass_10x10.gif boot disks allow you to by-pass damaged Windows 2000 operating system files to get your computer up and running in a solid, stable configuration. You simply tell the computer to access the Windows 2000 codes necessary for start-up from your floppy disk drive rather than the hard drive. Creating the set of four boot disks is specific to this version of the operating system
  1. Step 1 Insert the Windows 2000 Professional CD into your computer's CD-ROM drive. Insert a formatted, blank diskette into the floppy disk drive. Have three additional formatted, blank diskettes standing by.
  2. Step 2 Click "Start" at the bottom left corner of your computer screen to open the start-up menu. This lists the start-up actions available for Windows 2000. Select "Run." The program then asks you to designate the drive, program, folder or file you want to open by either typing the destination or clicking "Browse," to select the destination from the Windows 2000 directory.
  3. Step 3 Click the "Browse" button at the bottom of the pop-up window. The PC's hard drivemag-glass_10x10.gif directory window appears.
  4. Step 4 Browse the computer's hard drive directory and select the CD-ROM drive to designate it as the destination you want to open. Click "OK" to open the CD-Rom drive. The folders and files saved on the Windows 2000 CD now appear in the directory format.
  5. Step 5 Select the "Bootdisk" folder. A directory of files appears.
  6. Step 6 Double-click the program file "Makeboot.exe," then click "OK" to launch the Windows 2000 boot disk maker program. The program checks that you have a formatted diskette in the floppy disk drive and then begins to make the boot disk.
  7. Step 7 Watch your screen as the process of making the boot disk progresses. The boot disk for Windows 2000 requires four diskettes. The program cues you to remove the first diskette and insert the second, and so on until all four diskettes are created and the boot disk making process is finished.
