The default screen resolution on your MacBook Air is 1440 x 900 pixels. This takes full advantage of the display panel on the laptop, but does result in some small icons. You also have the option of choosing between 5 other resolution options, some of which are actually at a different ratio than the default setting. But you can easily switch between all of them to see which option your prefer.
Step 1: Click the System Preferences icon in the dock at the bottom of the screen.

Step 2: Click the Displays icon in the Hardware section of the window.

Step 3: Click the Scaled option at the center of the window, then choose your preferred resolution.

As you click a new resolution, your screen will automatically adjust to the change. This makes it very easy to try out all of the different options until you find the one that you prefer. Additionally, note that selecting the "Best for built-in display" option will default your MacBook Air back to the 1440 x 900 option.

How to change view size in windows 8

You can change the view size in Windows 8 in the following ways:
1) By changing the size of text and other items on the desktop
You can change the size of text and other items (like icons) on your desktop without disturbing your current screen resolution settings. To do this, follow the steps mentioned ahead:a)Open Screen Resolution by swiping in from the right edge of the screen, tapping "Search" (or if you're using a mouse, pointing to the upper-right corner of the screen, moving the mouse pointer down, and then clicking "Search"), enter "Make text larger" in the search box, and then tapping or clicking "Make text and other items larger or smaller".
b) Drag the slider until the items in the preview image are the size you want them to be.
c) Tap or click "Apply".
You'll see the change the next time you sign in to Windows.
Also, you can change the text size for specific items (such as Window title bars or tooltips) without affecting the size of anything else on your desktop. Follow these steps to do this:
a) Open Screen Resolution by swiping in from the right edge of the screen, tapping "Search" (or if you're using a mouse, pointing to the upper-right corner of the screen, moving the mouse pointer down, and then clicking "Search"), entering "Make text larger" in the search box, and then tapping or clicking "Make text and other items larger or smaller".
b) Under "Change only the text size", choose the item you'd like to change and pick a text size. If you want the text to be bold, select the "Bold" check box.
c) Tap or click "Apply".
You'll see the change the next time you sign in to Windows.
Note: To view a pictorial description of the above process, refer to the link:

2) By changing screen resolution
You can change the view size on your desktop by changing screen resolution settings. To do this, follow these steps:
a) Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, tap "Settings", and then tap "Change PC settings" (If you're using a mouse, point to the lower-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer up, click "Settings", and then click "Change PC settings").
b) Tap or click "PC and devices", then tap or click "Display".
c)Tap or click the resolution slider and drag it until you find your desired resolution.
d) Tap or click "Apply".

The letters are to small and pictures too,i need to zoomout alittle bit..

This solution is for windows 7

To make the text on your screen larger or smaller

Open Screen Resolution by clicking the the Start button, clicking Control Panel, and then, under Appearance and Personalization, clicking Adjust screen resolution.

Choose one of the following:

Smaller - 100% (default). This keeps text and other items at normal size.

Medium - 125%. This sets text and other items to 125% of normal size.

Larger - 150%. This sets text and other items to 150% of normal size. This option appears only if your monitor supports a resolution of at least 1200 x 900 pixels.

Click Apply.

To see the change, close all of your programs and then log off of Windows. This change will take effect the next time you log on.

Hello nancyedawley,

The text size can be enlarged by holding down the [Ctrl] key and pressing the [+] key. The text can be made smaller by pressing the [Ctrl] and [-] key combination.

My writing is so small i can't read any thing on my computer because of this i can't read anthing you write back so can someone call me at 901-283-0239

You can increase the size of text by pressing control + or - buttons press control button first. Also there is zoom in the tools section and also you can increase the size of text in the control panel or the web page under tools sections of most browsers. If we new the browser or what you text is small in or even if it was small every where you can change the resolution size of your Windows. Win 7 you can incease text by going to control panel click on display once there go to where it says increase your text size. Not sure what your operating system is either. So assuming it is Win 7 I hope that this assists you. John

Font size and yahoo games

Typically, to adjust the font size within a browser, you would press command and the "+" plus key to increase the font size within the browser. You can also access it through the top menu bar by going to "View" then down to "Text Size" and doing that until you're satisfied.

Dell C840 Increasing resolution increase screen size and vice versa

Laptops when running in non native resolutions sometimes tend to use a small area, so that the bluring of text is not noticeable. The reason is that laptop text is only sharp in its native resolution, and in your case the possibility is that your native resolution is 1600x1200 (If you can post the exact model or a link with your machine configuration, I can confirm what the native resolution is).

However you can make the icons and text larger, the best way is to and change the font size in windows (display settings) from the normal to large or extra large. This makes all the fonts much larger and easy on the eye, and it also will keep the text large as you are still running it in native solution mode.
