Re: Shoestrings wrapped under agitator

You will have to remove the agitator. Remove the softener dispenser from the top of the agitator and when you look down the agitator, you will see a 10mm stainless steel bolt. You will need to remove this bolt to remove the agitator. If there is no bolt, try pulling the agitator up and out.

Small things get into the electric pump. I removed coins and shoestrings from the pump in the past. They are easy to take apart and clean up. Rarely do they fail.

Easy fix. Remove the front panel. Get the shoestring or whatever it is out of the electric pump.

Won't drain water or spin

2 seperate problems but related. The drain problem could be something in the pump. Recently I removed some shoestrings from one. To get into the machine is easy. The top is bolted down. The front panel has to come off first. To do so place a thin knife between the top and front and press down to release the clips holding the front on. That is the pump on the bottom rightdbffad1.jpgLets talk about the no spin issue. The lid switch assembly could be at fault. After the front comes off you can easily remove the top, unplug the lid switch and check it for continuity.

I need to know how to take the cover off. water

I removed a shoestring from one of them pumps not long ago. The electric pump comes apart easily for cleaning. Remove the 3 screws holding the bottom panel on, they are under the washer between the base and the washer. First try cleaning out this pump filter. With any luck you won't have to ring for service.4010f77.jpg

Have your mop ready. This old school manual gives directions for removing the front panel. The top does not pop off the front pops off on these washer.

Laundry is trapped under the base of the agitator.

Im not very familiar with that type of top loadign washer,,, but on most agitators there is a bolt that runs down the center of the agitator, connecting it to the transmission/gearbox. Usually there is a cap, or softner dispenser that can be pulled off, revealing this bolt.
