Question about Nokia 5130 Cellular Phone
Ok for starters your Nokia 5310 is not a SMART phone so you will not be able to install WI-FI software! Even if you could your phone would have to have WI-FI components built into the phone for WI-FI to work. If you need WI-FI try looking at some of the Nokia N series phones like N95 etc. Because they use Symbian Software they are capable of running applications that can control WI-FI and GPS etc.

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

As you told us you did updated the phone's software, so the phone itself should not have no problem after the update.
So obviously we must focus on the 2gb memory card that must have caused this problem.
The card may contain some short of virus or is not formated properly for your phone.
Did you purchase the card in new condition?
A quick advice could be:
1)back up your files in your pc.
2)then try formating your card.
Looking forward to hearing from you for further assistance!
